Hi there, as some who have tested the Q800F, and comparing it to Q800D. I can say you won't be disappointed with Q800F. The smaller sub although doesn't extend as low, it definitely has more punch and control overall. At louder volume, the bass is still tight and doesn't get muddy.

Just got this Samsung HW-Q800F Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. Perfect for my TV without the need for a speaker system. Great sound and easy set-up! Works well by connecting via HDMI to TV's ARC input and turns on and off with the TV.

The same mode in the Q800F feels slightly less cohesive and slightly artificial. Then again, this is somewhat subjective and dependent on the kinds of movies and music that you're listening to. It's totally possible that you might prefer the relatively exaggerated version of adaptive modes atmos effect on the 800F more. And the 800F has a little more detail in the treble tuning along with its extra punch in the bass
