But I really like this thing. Any tips? EDIT: Returned the ViWoods for 3 reasons: The light didn’t dim enough: too bright in bed. No warm light. Metal build = cold and uncomfortable to the hand. I prefer plastic. It required more work to put software on there, though that was easily resolved by a software update and then installing Google Play.Read thread S Slow Morning Diaries Slow Morning Diaries · 12.1K subscribers · Nov 2025
So, for me and with that, I personally think that this device is 100% worth it. I think if you are slowly gradually getting sick and tired of the Kindle experience or maybe the Coobo experience, I've never really heard anybody say they had a bad experience with the Coobo to be honest with you. But if you are having a negative experience with the Kindle, I do think that if you can slowly transition to something like this, it would be of great benefit in my opinion. But that is just my first month opinion thus farWatch M Minimalist Setup Minimalist Setup · 1.2K subscribers · Oct 2025
I also find the Palma 2 much more comfortable to use alone than my Kindle. It's even waterresistant, though not waterproof, so accidental spills or splashes won't be a problem. Performance. The previous Palma already featured a decent processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662, but Onyx has given the Palma 2 a significant performance boost with the Snapdragon 690 chipWatch M ModesTy33 ModesTy33 · 819 subscribers · Dec 2025
So, I would highly recommend this deviceWatch

We’ll answer all of these questions and take you through whether or not we’d recommend getting the Boox Palma 2, a true enigma in the tech space.Watch M
So much of this device comes down to how you load it out. This was my first attempt at a purpose-built secondary device, and it was a worthwhile experiment. If I were to spring for a, you know, the pro version of this with cellular data, it would definitely change my opinion about its use as a dumb phone companion, but the color side of things is something I haven't experienced yet, and I don't know what it would do. The Boox Palma 2 doesn't knock any single category out of the park, but it does many things very wellWatch Y

So, my biggest pro with this device is the display clarity and reading comfort. My biggest con, how long it takes to charge. I sound like a broken record, I know. Bottom line, if this were my only e-reader, I think I would be frustrated with it, but as part of my rotation, it's become something I genuinely like using especially for short focused reading burstsWatch 6
And while I still find myself questioning who exactly this phone-size device is for, I do think I understand a bit more why so many people have become kind of obsessed with it.Read
