Flagged as a product to avoid

12 of 16 research runs entered this as a product to avoid rather than a pick.

The marketed upsell: the bigger-pint version Ninja pushes hardest, but the standard Ninja CREAMi (NC301) is the machine every current roundup actually recommends. Its larger loads give the same hard-working motor more to do, and it appears in none of the outlets' top picks.

  1. The marketed upsell: the bigger-pint version Ninja pushes hardest, but the standard Ninja CREAMi (NC301) is the machine every current roundup actually recommends. Its larger loads give the same hard-working motor more to do, and it appears in none of the outlets' top picks.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  2. It is dominated by the standard Ninja CREAMi (NC301), which does the same job for less; buyers upsell themselves into capacity and programs most home users never touch, and no outlet in the retrieved evidence elevated the XL over the standard machine.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  3. The most heavily marketed upsell in the category, yet no retrieved source awards it a place on any expert board, while the standard NC301 collects cult-favourite and favorites designations from The Guardian, Bon Appetit and Mashable. Buy the standard Ninja CREAMi unless capacity is truly the priority.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  4. The marketing-pushed upsell of the Creami: it adds capacity and cost without addressing the format's core weaknesses, and the bigger motor and pint amplify the noise and softer, sometimes gritty texture the tasting comparison found in blade-style machines. Ownership-wise you pay more for the same unproven-in-the-long-term architecture.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  5. The heavily marketed upsell in the Creami line: you pay meaningfully more for extra capacity most households do not need. Buy the standard Ninja CREAMi (NC301) and pocket the difference.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  6. The step-up everyone cross-shops against the NC301, but its extra capacity and functions do not change the output for a single-pint household. The NC301 already delivers the core experience the coverage crowns.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  7. Eliminated by The Spruce Eats' own long-term testing because of containers breaking and the machine failing, the best-documented failure record in the category. Brilliant first-week reviews mask ownership that falls apart.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  8. For most households it does the same job as the standard Ninja CREAMi (NC301) in a bigger, heavier body, and the specialist-backed move is the standard NC301 or the equally rated NutriBullet Chill. Buy it only if you regularly need the larger capacity.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  9. It runs the same blade-and-paddle platform the tasting coverage flags for noise and softer, sometimes grittier results, now spinning larger pints that demand more motor work per cycle. Mashable's favorite in this family is the standard Creami, not the Deluxe.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  10. The upsell model the field's testers declined to reward: Food & Wine's best overall out of 41 machines went to the Creami XL, and Mashable's tested favorites include the base machine, not the Deluxe. Buyers pay extra for capacity and modes the outlets did not reward.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  11. The upsell Ninja pushes hardest: more capacity and five additional settings on the same noisy, plastic, hard-working processing architecture with the same texture caveats. Food Network, having tested the whole line, still sends buyers to the Deluxe, and owner communities struggle to find reviews explaining what actually separates it from the old Deluxe.

    Flagged 16 September 2026
  12. Serious Eats' review is blunt: loud, large, and makes middling "ice cream," and they recommend buying their winning Cuisinart machine instead. r/icecreamery users report the FastFreeze is an improvement unless you need huge portions, and The Kitchn steers convenience-seekers to the FastFreeze's smaller, quieter body.

I didn’t think a countertop ice cream machine could change my nightly routine, but the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe proved me wrong. What started as a TikTok-inspired viral product buy has turned into my favorite way to unwind after my toddler goes to bed. However, he is also a big fan of the flavorful frozen treats, so the machine gets plenty of love. It’s so easy to throw in a scoop of protein powder, some milk and a mix-in or two the night before, then press a button and end up with a creamy, perfectly scoopable dessert that feels indulgent, but really isn’t. It’s fun, a little therapeutic and incredibly versatile.

Packaged responsibly in fully recyclable materials, this ice cream maker received top marks for almost everything. Its 240ml tubs are even dishwasher-safe and it’s quiet to use. It can be stored easily in a drawer or cupboard and the tubs are stackable, too.

While I love the idea of the Ninja Swirl more, we have to recommend the Ninja Creami Deluxe over the Ninja Swirl until we hear word about how to properly clean the Swirl pint jar. I hope we find a solution because we really love it!

And nothing compares to the excitement we had for the Ninja Creamy. The Creamy allows you to make all sorts of ice cream flavors and frozen treats that can be low-fat and sugar-free or good old-fashioned ice cream that's full of fat and full of sugar. We got the Ninja Creamy Deluxe model, which has a few extra buttons and features than the standard creamy. You end up needing more sweetener than you think. Granulated sugar works and tastes the best, but if you're trying to keep the calories low, we prefer to use agave syrup. The less fat contained in the liquid you're using, the more icy it will be.
