I did try them on just really quickly to see if they fit well, and they fit me great. They are not too snug in the toe areas, and I want to say that I did size up about half a size.

The Nike Alphafly 3, Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris, New Balance SC Elite v4, and Hoka Rocket X 2 are the current top tier, with the Nike Vaporfly 3 still highly competitive at a lower price. Save them for races and 2-3 hard sessions per month — they're not durable enough for daily training.

To me, the Alphafly 3 epitomizes the pinnacle of super shoes. With significant enhancements in weight, responsiveness, and overall performance compared to the Alphafly 2, a near-total redesign has reintroduced the trampoline-like bounce that I loved in the original.

Such a sharp, clean colourway on what is arguably my favourite super-shoe silhouette. The colours really pop without being over the top.

So yeah… Alphafly 3 = solid shoe, just maybe not my shoe. Still glad I tried them though.

🥳 The AF3 are just feeling a little dated in foam response and cushioning.

Plus the Alphafly 3 wasn't exactly famed for its durability.

This is the Nike Alphafly 3. It is Nike's top-tier racer, and this is particularly relevant today because we are on our way to a race. As always with these first run reviews, I'm going to take us through some running at 10-minute pace, 8:30 pace, and something sub-7-minute pace. So, really cool. The Nike rep for the running store I manage actually hooked me up with a couple of shoes.
