Once again, I was thoroughly impressed with Nespresso's pod technology when testing the Nespresso Vertuo Next machine. This is an appliance for those with a busier morning who still want a fabulous brew. You'll have to invest in pods and manage the increased waste, but it comes at a price and convenience level that is hard to beat.

Yes-reusable capsules will be fully recognized as long as they are sized appropriately to ensure proper cup size with the machine. The Vertuo line is equipped to recognize Nespresso capsules based on diameter of the rim of the pod; the machine actually looks for a certain diameter of metal as opposed to the barcode located on standard Vertuo pod lids.

Overall this machine is a great coffee machine; it’s easy to use with the one-button operation and with the barcode system it’s foolproof. Even so you can make adjustments to the presets. The machine is quiet and has a relatively small footprint.

We love the Vertuo Next's sleek and slim design that can be conveniently nestled onto countertops and in cabinets. And it performs very well at producing a wide range of delicious and convenient coffee drinks, with very little effort or upkeep. You've got these special pods. They're different than K-cups, but basically you take this, you open it up, place this in here, drop that down, and then it's going to lock in place. The Vertuo Next machine leaked 3 times in the 15 coffees I made, covering the worktop and ruining cook books, Ive only had the machine under 4 days! I took pictures and presented to online support. Im not sure they looked at them as said had to cal technical support who then carried out a pointless video consultation and ran the coffee machine through basic tests.

I want to be straight with you, because no other guide will say it: do not buy the Vertuo Next new. The reliability data is the worst in the range, with 18% of one-star Trustpilot reviews citing a hardware failure inside 18 months, mostly the head mechanism and water pump. The coffee it makes when working is fine. The problem is whether it keeps working.
