Levoit LV600S (this review) is the mid-large-room pick — 6L tank, 60-hour runtime, best for master bedrooms, living rooms, or larger nurseries. Levoit Classic 300S is the small-medium pick — 6L tank but smaller mist output, best for small bedrooms and nurseries. Both have app control and auto humidity. Dreo Macro Pro is a competitor at similar pricing with slightly larger tank and stronger mist output — good alternative for very large rooms. For most bedrooms, the LV600S is the specific correct pick — the balanced tank size and mist output covers 90% of home humidifier needs.

The LV600S is the humidifier for people who want to set 45% and stop thinking about it. A built-in sensor and auto mode hold the target, a 6-liter tank runs a day or two between fills, warm mist is there for the coldest nights (and it sterilizes the water), and the VeSync app handles schedules and voice control. Output is high enough for a large bedroom or an open living area, it's near-silent on low, and the aroma tray is a nice extra. Use distilled water to avoid white dust — that's the one rule for any ultrasonic.

The Levoit LV600S is the smart humidifier I keep coming back to. After running it for 90 days in my 600-square-foot living room, I can confirm this thing delivers. The hybrid mist technology lets you switch between cool and warm mist, which I found especially useful during cold Colorado nights when the warm setting made the room feel cozier.

Ultrasonic humidifiers require distilled water and diligent; if you use tap water in them they will release the impurities into the mist like calcium and magnesium (the white dust people complain about) - you do not want a baby to breathe that in.
