Dreo HM713S Smart Humidifier

For a smaller humidifier, the Dreo HM713S packed a big punch in our testing. On the lowest setting, it was able to raise the humidity in the room by 4 percent in an hour and 10 percent in 8 hours. Then, when we placed it on the high setting, it raised the room’s humidity by more than 30 percent after 8 hours. The manufacturer claims this unit will run for 60 hours on low without requiring a refill, and our testing verified this. Overall, we appreciated that it was easy to set up, fill, and clean, and that it has a modern appearance that can jive with any decor.

Straight away, the standout feature for me is this huge 6 L top fill tank.

Let's break down the six major issues using only real user experiences. Issue number one, terrible value for money. This is the biggest complaint. Multiple buyers expected premium performance for the price, but instead called it a glorified steam blower. One user said it doesn't actually raise room humidity beyond about 50%. Even after updates, others said cheaper humidifiers worked better with less hassle. Paying premium money and getting mediocre results, that's a hard fail. Issue number two, white dust and particle residue everywhere. Even when using recommended filters or distilled water, users reported white powder covering furniture, clogging furnace filters, and leaving visible residue. One buyer said it clogged a brand new furnace filter in just two weeks.
