For most bedrooms the LEVOIT Classic 300S is the machine we would recommend: enough tank to stop thinking about refills, a humidistat that keeps the room in the sensible 40-to-45 percent band, quiet enough to sleep beside, and a top-fill design that removes the single most annoying part of ownership. Choose the Vicks Warm Mist if the room is cold and the water is hard, the Honeywell if mineral dust is unacceptable, and the MistAire or the Droplet if the room is genuinely small. Whatever you buy, set it to a target rather than a speed, place it a few feet from the bed on a hard surface, and empty it every morning.

So, if you prefer not to have to use the app, then the Core 300S will be your best bet. Moving to the app itself, I have to say I'm a big fan of both the Xiaomi and the Lavoy apps compared to most other air purifier apps that I've tested. But two features stand out for the Core 300S. The app itself provides the actual particle figure on the screen and it shows historical data. The four compact just tells you if the air quality is good or bad without the actual data. This is something to consider if you're a data nerd like I am.
