The answer isn't a resounding "yes" in every area - there are definitely better CPUs for gaming, but I can now confidently say that the Intel 265K is no longer a complete lemon. In fact, in some tests it even beats every other CPU I've benched, and yes, that even includes a game test.Read H

The short answer is that most PC enthusiasts here are gaming-oriented, and the 265k is only an 'okay' gaming chip. The Ryzen chips, especially the x3d chips, are generally better for gaming purposes. 20 cores don't matter to gamers, who can use maybe 6 at a time. Games prefer single-core, which the 265k does well - but the 3d cache on the x3d chips is far more effective.Read thread P
