If you want a forward-looking AMD platform with a longer socket lifespan, the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X on AM5 brings Zen 5 IPC improvements and a platform that AMD has committed to supporting through future generations. The trade-off is DDR5-only memory and no included cooler, but the platform longevity argument is real if you're planning to upgrade the CPU in a few years.

It offers eight cores and sixteen threads, which makes it well-suited for high-performance gaming and multitasking. This processor is part of the Ryzen 9000 series, released in August 2024, and provides slightly better specs than the Ryzen 5 9600X. The 9700X adds two more cores and four additional threads, giving your system extra headroom for demanding tasks.

The 9070 XT is perhaps the best AMD graphics card for gaming even today, and the 9700X is an extremely capable processor; 32GB DDR5 RAM is always great to see, too. Those who tried this PC for themselves were especially happy with its price-to-performance, noting that just about all other brands fell short of this system.

This chip is a real powerhouse, easily handling today's most demanding games and creative apps. You're getting eight cores, a base clock of 3.6 GHz, and it can boost all the way up to 4.6 6 GHz, so you're set for just about anything. Of course, a strong CPU needs some solid backup, and that's where the 16GB of DDR4 RAM comes in.

The only downside for daily use is the storage. A 1 TB SSD is a bit small for modern use. Big games easily take up over 100GB each so you'll probably need to use the extra motherboard slots to add another drive fairly soon. When it comes to gaming this machine easily handles heavy loads.
