I love using black and white Super 8 mixed with color, so the ability to switch with just a switch is such a plus. It is double the price of the Camp Snap, but the colors of the Camp Snap look much more punchy than what my Super 8 delivers, and there is no switching between any different styles. Both are re-chargeable a true bonus over the alternative of carrying batteries around.Read P
This might just be the ultimate party camera and it's actually quite versatile because this is three in one. I mean, this takes cinema video, absolutely. It also takes Instax Mini photos, and you can even use this as an Instax Mini printer. So, there's actually a surprising amount of depth to this camera that we have to cover. So, let's get to it. I'm Chris Nichols. This is PetaPixel.Watch D
The Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Cinema is unlike any other instant camera I’ve tried in my years of testing gear – and the complete retro experience that this format was made for. The Evo Cinema is lo-fi, and trust me, it’s the retro instant camera to take traveling and to parties.Read G
While it's not the first single or super 8 inspired retro camera out there, it's still a pretty unique look and one that earned a number of admiring comments from those who saw it while I was testing. And further inspired by vintage cameras, Fujifilm's revamped the digital effects with a new era's dial, mimicking the technology and aesthetic of 10 decades from 1930 to 2020.Watch C
It also supports smartphone connectivity for printing and remote shooting, bringing a brand-new way to enjoy instant photography and making it a popular must-have gadget for creatives and photography enthusiasts.Read F
I love the texture on the camera and the tactile feel of all the buttons. On the front, we have the shutter button, which is used to capture short video clips or still images. Just above is the 28mm f2 lens surrounded by a degree control dial. There's also a selfie mirror, an LED flash, and a recording light. Behind the rubber cover, you'll find the USBC port, and the micro SD card slot.Watch M
For 9 out of 10 couples, the Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO is the way to go. The ability to choose which photos to print saves money, stress, and guarantees your guest book is filled with awesome pictures.Read A
It actually encourages a fun, slower, and more intentional shooting style compared to a typical point and shoot or smartphone. The standout feature of the camera is the era dial, which allows you to select from a range of 10 decade inspired visual effects in both stills and cinema mode. from the 1930s to the 2020s.Watch C
Ultimately while I’d have been happier if the mini EVO Cinema were a bit cheaper, I still feel it becomes the most successful and desirable in the current crop of retro digicams.Read J
Mouthful, but this thing is really unique. First of its kind, really.Watch T TikTok TikTok post

It has been a really cool piece of tech to have in my arsenal. I did a full breakdown review of this. If you want to check that out, I'll have it linked in the description below. Since it's been out for so many years, I wanted to kind of talk about some of the conversations that have been >> around this. There's pros, there's cons, there's people that hate it, there's people that love it.Watch P

This is probably one of the most exciting cameras I've held in the wild, the Instax Mini Evo Cinema. How is it? Let's find out. So, first off, let's talk about the overall feel and look of this camera. So, it obviously is a very nice looking sort of camera that we've got here. Nice premium look, but it is plastic. So, it is like the Fujifilm X-H1, nice looking camera but made of plastic.Watch W
I'd personally recommend using it, especially if you're shooting video or printing one-handed. Keeping in line with the modern retro look, there's plenty of tactile controls. My favorite, of course, is the eras dial, which lets you quickly switch between 10 different decade-inspired visual styles, from the grainy charm of the 1930s to the cleaner look of the 2020s.Watch A Artofher Article Read M
So these are really simple to use. Once you turn on the camera, you can select a lens effect by rotating the lens dial. As you can see, it will change the effect. And for the film effects, you can rotate the film dial over here on the top and it will change the film effect. So I'm going to play a slideshow of photos taken using every single lens effect and film effect.Watch T
After using the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo for a while I wanted to share my favorite creative technique that can really set your photos apart. When using this camera, start by rotating the front dial around the lens until you see lens effect number nine - double exposure.Watch M
And honestly, this might be the coolest camera to come out in 2026 thus far. Inspired by a Super 8 classic style camera, this thing has such a unique and retro look. It has a lot of functionality that you're going to want in your, you know, graband go camera. I mean, it fits in the palm of your hand.Watch E
Like, I really have to buy it right now. So, this is how it looks like. You see that even the like this aluminum or the stainless is also in pink color. This is like a leathery material here. And they have the Instax Mini Air 4 here. Super cute. And then this is the backside like this. I just pretty. We have a lot of new buttons here on the newest Fujifilm Mini X4 Mini Air 4.Watch E
And actually, I really like it. Okay, like this. Like you can match different film and the lens. And you can just like I think this is very perfect for traveling because you can create 100 different expression.Watch

The video quality is not great (although it reflects the quality of the time). If you turn the effects up to max you will have difficultly recognising people. Around half way works best in my opinion. If you select 2020 you have the option to double the image resolution but the quality won’t complete with your smartphone unless it is over ten years old.Read T
I really use this because the Mini Evo Cinema's image quality, well, it's sketchy at best, let's just say, but more on this later.Watch T
What’s really awesome about the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Cinema is what it does so much differently. It’s a cinema-first camera designed to also shoot stills and print Instax photos. Additionally, there’s a dedicated switch that allows you to change the way vertical-only video is rendered. It can go from the 1930s all the way until the modern era.Read W
Now, if you're looking to change things like the ISO or have more flexibility in your video, it definitely isn't the camera for you and it's more like a point and shoot. So, bear that in mind when you're purchasing. >> So, let's walk through the buttons on the camera.Watch E
Launching at £330, the Instax Mini Evo Cinema is the latest edition to the company’s Evo range of “hybrid” cameras. These are essentially digital cameras that double as Instax printers, allowing you to choose the shots you want to print. We reviewed the Instax Mini Evo back in 2022, giving it four stars and a Recommended Award.Read I
a confounding release from Fujifilm that exactly nobody asked for, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think anyone on planet Earth and possibly beyond expected a dedicated video camera to emerge from the Instaxs line in 2026.Watch D
I tried the new Evo Cinema, and I'm torn between the fun of the decade dial and its flaws, which include a high price, low resolution, and some bugs. I haven't had this much fun with a retro camera in a long time. But the price is higher than the original Evo, and the camera froze up on me a few times.Read M
In general, battery capacity a problem. You can take quite a bit of shots on each camera before you have to recharge the camera. But, it is a little bit of a long-term concern. So, once the battery starts failing, there's no way to exchange it, and the camera is probably toast. Both the Instax Mini Evo and the LiPlay come with the same lens.Watch C
While this is arguably simpler than the mainstream memory card-computer-cloud method, I think it’s not as streamlined as it could be, and may slow things down. Add the cost of Instax film to the mix, and that may prove to be one of the Achilles heels for the Instax Mini Evo Cinema.Read M
But it is lacking the magic of the analog experience. So, if you're trying to get away from your iPhone and uh have less digital gadgets in your life, the Instax Mini 90 is definitely the right choice for you. The Evo has an internal battery that you charge via USB port, which is hidden right here under this flap. It's pretty convenient. The battery uh seems to last a pretty long time.Watch T
During our review, the Instax Mini Evo Instant Camera performed well for its purpose. It makes photography feel fun rather than just functional. Image quality was consistent for instant prints, with good exposure in most lighting conditions.Read A
It's great because it is a hybrid camera, so it can print like a Polaroid, but it can also take photos. You can also print the photos from your phone to this or put them in a collage, which I've done. When I've done that for people, I usually do it on my Instax Mini Link, which I have here. However, this thing does not seem to hold a charge anymore. I will charge it before a wedding.Watch D
It is a quirky, fun device that is at the same time, slow, clunky and occasionally infuriating, but also huge fun and wonderfully engaging in the right circumstances.Read K
This Instax Mini Evo has been out for a little while. Um, and it did get a bit of an upgrade when they added USBC. This is the black model in USBC. Um, some people on the internet have said that only a certain color has USBC, but I think both the black and the brown models have USBC if you buy them. Now, it records to both internal storage or to a uh micro SD card.Watch B
However, TechRadar's Timothy Coleman didn't like the "sub-par image quality and sluggish performance" while still praising its fun factor.Read R
I'm holding off on my final verdict, however, as I came across a few annoying bugs.Read
