Flagged as a product to avoid

1 of 7 research runs entered this as a product to avoid rather than a pick.

While affordable, the Mini 12’s print quality is noticeably lower than its successors, and it lacks advanced features such as a built-in flash or higher resolution sensor. It’s best avoided if you can afford a newer model.

Upon opening, probably one of my first thoughts is this color is just absolutely stunning. If you know me, you know that blue is my favorite color, but especially pastel colors really just catch my eye. So, this color could not be more perfect for me. My friends know me very well.

The absolute showstopper feature of the Instax Mini12 is its fully integrated twist to activate close-up mode with parallax correction. While older instant cameras force you to manually attach fragile close-up lens clips or guess where your shot was lined up, the Mini12 streamlines the entire process.

And in some ways, that's kind of cool. I mean, talk about having a camera that puts you right in the moment. You know, that This is exactly like the old Polaroids from the 1970s. It's all about taking the photo, printing the photo immediately, boom, right in the moment, and then most likely handing it off to one of your friends as a keepsake.

Issue number one, film is ridiculously expensive. Sure, the bundle gives you some sheets up front, but once you run out, you'll quickly realize the film costs almost as much as the camera itself over time. Every oops photo is literally money down the drain. Issue number two, photos come out dark and washed out.
