The Instax Mini 13 continues many of the loved features from the Mini 12, including a simple design, automatic exposure, and a budget-friendly price. But Fujifilm has tweaked the design and added a selfie timer, among other changes. I tried the newest budget Instax – and it’s a charming albeit imperfect camera to rival the best instant cameras .

Fujifilm’s Instax Mini 13 is a more budget-friendly option that can take great photos mostly on par with the Mini Evo. It’s easy to use (just twist its lens to turn the camera on or off), it outperforms other budget instant cameras we tested, and we like its bright, playful designs. Its biggest improvement over the Mini 12 is its self-timer, with both two- and 10-second countdown options.

At ₹8,999, the Instax Mini 13 is priced aggressively. Of course, the real cost of ownership comes from the film packs, with a 10-shot pack costing around ₹750. That works out to roughly ₹75 per photo.

Fujifilm’s Instax Mini 13 might be new for 2026, but it looks like it could have come out 10 years ago or more. The fundamentals of the successful instant camera line stay the same in that it’s a basic, inexpensive instant camera that lets you take fun, physical photos that develop in about 90 seconds.

Little has changed since the Mini 12, but this still MIGHT be the best option for an easy to use Instax camera. Chris Niccolls went to downtown Calgary to find out if that’s the case.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 13 is fun, lightweight, and incredibly easy to use. The catch? Film costs add up quickly. But if you love capturing moments you can actually hold onto, it just makes sense. Watch our AI & Tech Editor, Aayush Ailawadi, share his first impressions.

That adds up fast, especially if you're snapping casually.

The Mini 13 is my top pick for a whole bunch of reasons, but above all is the price: if you've never owned one before, or you don't want to spend a lot of cash, this is the best bang-for-buck option.

Dan Finnen Dan Finnen Fuji · reviewer · Aug 2026

If you already have the 12 there’s no reason to upgrade, but if you’re new to the hobby, the Instax Mini 13 will become my default recommendation once the 12 is inevitably discontinued.

Like the predecessor (and competing mini instants like the Polaroid Go ), the film can often overexpose in bright sun, which is my biggest complaint about the new instant film camera.

So, I would give this category to the Go 3. >> The Mini 13 shoots in Instax Mini film. Those are those credit card-size prints, which are about 3.4 in by 2.1 in. The film has the ISO of 800. The Polaroid Go 3 shoots Polaroid Go film, which is slightly smaller prints at about 2.6 in by 2.1 in. But they do include that iconic white Polaroid border. That film has an ISO of 640.
