But the X8 Pro Omni actually brings things to the next level by introducing a brand new Osmo roller technology.

The best robot vacuum right now is the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni . This robot’s vacuuming feature outperformed all others in our lab tests, picking up as much as 60.3% of debris from both hard floors and carpet. Aside from an effective 18,000Pa vacuuming feature, the X8 Pro Omni features a self-cleaning roller mop for your hard floors and a hands-free docking station.

These two robots are some of the best on the market when it comes to getting your floors clean. The Eovax X8 Pro Omni and X9 Pro Omni. So, how do they differ? Does one clean better than the other or have more advanced features? And with Prime fall sales happening right now, both are on big discounts. So, I'll also show you which one gives you the best value.

With features like ZeroTangle 2.0 anti-tangle technology, upgraded TruEdge 2.0 edge cleaning, a TruEdge 3D edge sensor, the ability to recognize and avoid objects, and water nozzles that deliver fresh water back to the mop to keep it clean and renewed, this is a professional-level machine for deep cleaning large homes.

As I said before, I've owned a lot of these robot vacuums, but only a few have passed the long-term usage test, and this is one of them.

“But did it live up to my expectations? Short answer; yes. I’ve been spoiled. I can’t go back to how things used to be. I love the ability to direct, monitor and customise the clean from my phone, and the first few cleans the X8 Omni (which I dubbed The Terminator) did, left both me, and my partner, speechless.

After using both, I can confidently say that the X8 Pro Omni is a serious upgrade in almost every single way.

T TechRadar Article · Dec 2025

I couldn't have been happier to be proved wrong – this robovac not only vacuums marvellously well thanks to better interior airflow that sucks up all kinds of dirt, it even takes full advantage of its roller to effectively mop hard floors without any streaks.

And I am ultra excited that this one is supposed to clean itself. So, once the tank is full of clean water, just drop it back into the docking station.

S Smart Robot Reviews Michael · reviewer · Jun 2025

Both are excellent hard-floor cleaners with advanced navigation and fully automated OMNI docking stations. The difference is that the X8 Pro OMNI targets premium buyers, while the T80 OMNI focuses on delivering similar cleaning performance at a lower price.

Again, definitely one of the best features on this robot that really separates it from everything else out there. Another great feature this robot has is called True Edge 2.0. This is a dynamic dual edge cleaning technology. As you can see here, both the mop and side brush can mechanically move and extend outward compared to any other vacuum on the market.

Both excel at pet hair removal with 0% tangle rates, but the ECOVACS X8 PRO OMNI has advantages for pet owners with its higher mop drying temperature that better prevents odors and video calling feature for pet monitoring while away.

Ecovacs’ Deebot X8 Pro Omni is the best roller mopping bot I’ve tested, and at $1,099, it is one of the least expensive flagship models — Dreame’s roller mops start at $1,600, and Narwal’s Flow is $1,500.

It's so nice that this is removable. And then on the inside, just keep an eye on the charging contacts. Make sure they're free from any obstructions or blockages. Same with the channel on the right side. You can look in there and visually inspect if you notice any clogs or debris there.

Its main drawbacks are a very high price and only middling lab scores for carpet pet hair, but if you truly hate cleaning and want to hand off most floor care, it is a compelling premium option.

T TECHAERIS TECHAERIS · 3.8K subscribers · Mar 2025

It's made very nicely. It's very heavy. I got to say, heavier than some robot vacs that I've actually used. This is very heavy. On the back end, you can see the charging port here. This is where you get the charging going. And then, uh, the spot where the water and the solution goes into. All right, guys.

In my tests, both robots picked up pet hair very well. The floors were always clean. But I noticed the X11 was a bit better on my thick carpets. It pulled up more dust from deep down.

And while this isn't the very first roller mop on the market, it is the first roller mop that can extend outwards to get right along your baseboards and walls, which makes me think this might be the very best mopping robot vacuum on the market.

The X8 actually performed slightly better on our mopping stress test than its predecessor, and the $699.99 price is quite appealing.

Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni : This robot vacuum is a good option for pet owners who struggle with hair wrap but don’t have pets prone to accidents inside the house. Its “zero tangle” claim held up in our lab, with the vacuum successfully clearing pet hair from hardwood and low-pile carpet without clogging the brush roll. It’s also an excellent choice for homes with low-profile furniture, as its retractable lidar turret allows it to squeeze under 4-inch gaps that would trap standard robot vacuums.

While its vacuuming is very good, its biggest advantage is clearly on hard floors rather than carpets. Dreametech 50 Ultra takes a more balanced approach. It combines powerful suction, advanced obstacle avoidance, strong carpet cleaning, and excellent mopping performance. It's designed to handle a wider range of floor types and household situations with minimal intervention. The downside is that its mopping system, while excellent, isn't quite as innovative as the X8 Pro Omni's roller design. So, which one cleans better? Choose the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni if you want the strongest hard floor mopping performance possible. Choose the Dreametech 50 Ultra if you want the best overall balance of vacuuming, carpet cleaning, navigation, and mopping.

H HomeTechnologyReview Article

Both excel, but the Dreame offers superior edge coverage while the ECOVACS provides better stain scrubbing action.
