The B&W 707 S3 is the compact jewel of the 700 series, designed for audiophiles seeking superb sound quality and a high-end finish without the bulk of larger speakers. Its size allows for easy placement in a bookcase or on a shelf, though it truly shines when paired with quality stands. Bowers & Wilkins' long-standing reputation for excellence in this speaker category is evident in the 707 S3's performance. It delivers clear, natural sound across a range of music genres, though it is best suited for listeners whose tastes extend beyond heavy rock or techno. For those craving deeper bass, adding a quality subwoofer, such as one from B&W's own line, enhances the listening experience.Read W
Starting with the main players in this system we have the Bowers & Wilkins 606 S3 stereo speakers. Measuring 34 x 19 x 30cm (hwd), the 606 S3 are much more compact than many other home cinema speakers we’ve tested from the likes of Wharfedale and Fyne with their respective behemoth floorstanders. Comparatively, the B&W speakers are likely to dominate your room less, although you will have to factor in the space for stands.Read

Previous B&W speakers struggled to convey sufficient dynamics at low volumes, but the 607 S3 have no issues where that's concerned. The sound is precise, with a tight bass that's full of impact. But during testing we kept coming back to one word: fun. Yes, they're clear and refined, but overall the listening experience is just joyful from start to finish. For all the technological advances made inside the cabinet, B&W has stepped up the entertainment value outside it, and for the listener, that's what really matters.Read A

At this price, very few speakers compete with what the 606 S3 does. It has the kind of sonic character that makes you want to put on another record — not because it flatters everything, but because it makes music feel genuinely alive. That's harder to achieve than it sounds, and Bowers & Wilkins have been refining this formula for long enough to know exactly how to do it.Read H
Indeed, Mike and David think that it's the best cheap bookshelf speaker on sale right now, and more fun than you'd expect from a budget box.Watch T
I have these speakers and was floored by the sound quality. My room is a garage size room and it fills it nicely with a full bodied sound. Highs are sparkling without being shrill, midrange is weighty and natural and the bass is phenomenal for such a small speaker- fast, taught and goes surprisingly low. These speakers have rejuvenated my love for music again.Watch T
Then S3. Now obviously it's series 3, version three, upgrade three. They spend a lot of time and energy and R&D making their generations better. So when they've got a series 3, it's actually worthwhile of revisiting even if you may only own the series 2Watch T TikTok TikTok post

So, keeping that in mind, I purchased the 607 S3. My score for whether I would repurchase if I were to discard it is 4 or 5 points. It has been a long time since I found a speaker that was worth every penny. I think I would buy it again even if I had to pay the full priceWatch T

I'm definitely curious to demo the S3s in my room to see if they need as much DSP / room correction to make them sing. For the kind of content I watch and the kinds of music I listen to, the S2s are super fun, but after demoing the 706 S3 bookshelves at a hifi show in a hotel room that was far from ideal acoustically, I realized how awful the soundstage and cabinet design is on the 606 S2s!Watch A
The next step tends to cost more with something like B&W 607 S3 which will sound very much the opposite of the Diamonds above. B&W makes one of the nicest looking speakers. Demo/comparison would be required at local RS first. You could always ask what kind of bundle deal PT would be willing to offer with X1800H if there is interest! These speakers you would not be angling toward listeners.Read T
Excellent detailed review. It seems like B&W tried to make a more tonally balanced speaker but in the process lost too many of their previous strong points. Musician Knight 1 is indeed far more dynamic with better instrument separation and transient attack.Watch T
For me, though, it's the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 that get my vote. Value is a big deal for many people at the moment (myself included) – but here good value in no way means 'cheap', as the S3 pair sound spectacular.Read F Facebook Steve Kingdon · owner
