My model is the Bambu Lab P1S Combo with the AMS (Automatic Material System), and we love it. I wanted something that would work well out of the box without requiring extensive setup or calibration, and I heard that the P1S doesn't need calibration out of the box—which turned out to be true.

This means that you can reach higher build area temperatures for more intensive materials like ASA and other filaments that require specific temperatures to print. The fact that this printer is enclosed also means that it is contained within a smaller footprint. So even on this desk, you can see that the AMS plus the printer itself takes up a lot less space.

It feels like sandpaper, but it's also slightly sticky. I've never felt anything like this before. And it seemed to work just as well as the regular textured build plate in my simple test, except the heated bed was running 25 degrees cooler than the recommended settings for the textured plate.

You can see the extruder in there and as a result of that, they are all absolutely capable of printing TPU, whether that be Bambu Lab TPU or something like this SainSmart. The thing to understand though is whilst they can print, they cannot do it via the AMS module.

So, uh right in front of you next to me is the Bamboo Labs uh P1S 3D printer. So, the reason I bought the P1S after they just released the news about the P2S is mainly because of the price and also the uh price per dollar performance.

The Bamboo Lab P1S and the X1 Carbon are both fantastic printers, but they're missing something that can make printing certain filaments way easier. They don't have active chamber heating and they don't have active internal recirculating air filtration systems. Yeah. Well, today we're going to fix that. At least on my P1S here. What's especially cool is that this isn't just a Bamboo Lab mod.

Consider me impressed. That is absolutely incredible. Setup less than 15 minutes and then when I started the print, it automatically went into bad leveling mode. I didn't have to do anything.

For what I use it for — printing real, useful things that solve real problems in my workspace — it’s been worth every dollar.

One of the best things about this machine is how easy it is to set up and start printing right out the box. The user interface is straightforward and intuitive. And thanks to pre-esigned STL files on websites like MakerWorld and Thingiverse, you can start printing really cool things like this 1t tall Mewtwo. So, just going to round and pretty much say 3,000 hours that I So, around 3,000 hours that I've run on this. And uh so far, I've been very satisfied with everything. The reliability of the printer has been absolutely outstanding. We have had absolutely zero mechanical faults. Any issues that we have run into the booth printer have been purely user error. Things such as not cleaning the build plate or storing our filaments correctly. But the machine itself has had zero errors. The self-leveling bed almost feels like cheating compared to our Ender 3es.

I definitely will say I am pretty happy with how compact this thing is. It is slightly smaller build volume than the X-Maxx 3, but oh my gosh, size-wise, it's a pretty big difference in volume that it takes up. So, pretty happy with how compact it is. Fancy sticker sheet. This out first. Looks like all the small accessories you'll need. And here is the AMS module for multiple colors.

And the thing's been awesome. And just a little disclaimer there, Bambu Labs did not send me anything. They didn't send me any filament, they didn't send me a printer, nothing. This is all with my own money. This is the P1S and I bought it as a combo set. The AMS which allows it to feed multiple filaments into it. And there's a couple different ways that you can buy this.

Existing P1S owners: Only upgrade if you regularly use abrasive materials, swap nozzles frequently, or rely on multi-color printing as part of your workflow. If your P1S is running well for casual use, hold off.

Obviously, you can save a lot some money and go with the P1S, but you will have to do some upgrades to that, especially the hardened steel extruder and nozzle just because that doesn't come with it. but really don't have to do any upgrades to the P2S. And that was kind of my main thing there was as much as the P1S, I've had no issues with it. Knock on wood.

They have been pushing updates to some of their printers that prohibit you from using 3rd party software and you have to work through their cloud service to be able to print.

I like it, but then I don't like it at the same time cuz we'll talk about it. Um, it's also Wi-Fi capable. Um, you know, hook it up to your your laptop. You can control it from the slicer, the bamboo l uh bamboo slicer, and control everything from there. Or you can use the provided LCD toggle screen.

It's not a perfect machine. You're GOING TO run into problems and annoyances.

Good machine but I'll never buy one due to their priority software.
