Snapmaker U1
Ambitious marketing, documented owner regret. Snapmaker's current consumer machine and the one cross-shoppers encounter, but the brand-level warning is the honest basis for this trap, and better value exists among the picks above.

A widely circulated owner video documents a setup that went badly wrong after high expectations, and the retrieved evidence criticizes Snapmaker at brand level. The multi-tool marketing promise does not survive contact with the evidence; get the Bambu Lab A1 or Anycubic Kobra S1 instead and spend the difference on filament.

So, this is the Snapmaker U1. I'm going to be interested as uh Snapmaker releases more accessories for this. I want to get a couple 2 nozzles in to do some multicolor tiny miniatures. But so far as a hobbyist machine, I really do recommend this um and like it a lotWatch M Matt Talks Tech Matt Talks Tech · 819K subscribers · Jun 2026

It's been about 9 months since I reviewed the Snapmaker U1, the tool changer that took the 3D printing space by storm. I've been really impressed with what Snapmaker managed to pull off, and it's been a really solid machineWatch W WildRoseBuilds WildRoseBuilds · 137K subscribers · Apr 2026
For the past few weeks i’ve been throwing anything i could at this Snapmaker U1 3D Printer, but it just wont fail. After almost 300 straight hours of print time and over 10,000 toolchanges i have nothing but praise for this machine and i’ve awarded it 2026’s printer to beat. Price performance, reliability and feature set are all bundled neatly into this machine at a very stomachable mid tier machine priceWatch W WildRoseBuilds WildRoseBuilds · 137K subscribers · Jun 2026
The @Snapmaker U1 is already one of my favorite multi material 3D printers, but with a handful of carefully chosen upgrades it becomes an even more capable prototyping machineWatch A Aurora Tech Review unit from Snapmaker Aurora Tech · 126K subscribers · Jul 2026
In conclusion, the Snapmaker U1 is the best tool changer currently available on the market. Naturally, anyone considering a tool changer will also compare it to the FlashForge Creator 5. I've been testing the Snapmaker U1 for several months now. Four independent tool heads, core XY running at 500 mm a second. It's a brilliant printer at a price point that has disrupted the industryWatch P Planet 3DP Planet 3DP · 79.5K subscribers · May 2026
Unboxing the Snapmaker U1 was actually quite fun. Snapmaker does a great job with their start guide, and the machine is well packedWatch 2 247printing 247printing · 77.8K subscribers · Aug 2026
The Creator 5 is one of the cheapest toolchangers on the market and it costs around 150 to 200 bucks less than Snapmaker’s U1 depending on discounts or sales. To keep it short: If both printers fit your budget, you should get the Snapmaker U1. Main reasons are: It’s already semi-enclosed including a front door, you get a better camera and video feed. Most importantly: The automated filament feeding system alone is worth the additional expenses in my opinionWatch R Restalgia Review unit from Snapmaker Restalgia · 49.4K subscribers · Jul 2026

So, now that we've seen three successful, amazing multi-color prints, let's talk about this printer. All right, so we finished up all of our tests with the printer and I have to say it's probably my favorite printer now. This thing does it all and I actually don't have anything bad to say about it. After experiencing the speed and quality of this device, trying to go back to that old system I used for multi-color printing would be just awful. For the consumer that's looking for multi-filament printing, I think that right now the Snapmaker U1 is the king. If you're a 3D printing enthusiast who really wants to get multi-filament printing, this is the printer for you. I did not expect this to be one of my favorite printers in the new era of multi-color printing and I didn't expect it to be one of my favorite printers of all timeWatch 3 3D Printscape 3D Printscape · 25.2K subscribers · Oct 2026
Uh, if I didn't have any of these and I wanted to start, or if I was looking for the best multifunction printer on the market right now, uh, I would buy the Snapmaker U1. So, to sum up: if someone asked if I recommend this printer, the answer would be yes, without any hesitation. I can definitely say that this is a great consumer multifunction printer that works very well. Honestly, it might become my new favorite printer. The overall design of this printer is excellent. I can hardly spot any flaws. Unlike many other printers I have used, it works perfectly right out of the box with no need for mods or printed accessories to get it running. The toolhead swapping is impressively fast and it prints in color with zero wasteWatch 3 3D Max Builds Review unit from Snapmaker 3D Max Builds · 9.8K subscribers · Oct 2026

You have the Snapmaker U1 which is a true four-color tool head changer and so works very differently than the H2C Vortex system where you're swapping out nozzles. And right off the rip, I'm just going to let you know before we get even further into this, if we're talking about four colors and four colors only, no-brainer, Snapmaker is better, period, point-blank. The U1 isn't perfect, but it 's definitely a printer we'll keep in the workshop along with the other one we bought and haven't had any problems withWatch P PrintCubed³ PrintCubed³ · 866 subscribers · May 2026
A Prusa XL, if you're buying it in the US from Prusa could cost you upwards of $5,000 after all those fees and the U1 here will cost you about $950 all in, shipped, delivered, everything like that. So, that is a big factor for a lot of people. Most people, you know, if you have a small 3D print farm or you're just a hobbyist you can probably justify spending $950, but to justify spending $5,000, there are much more specific use cases for this, in my opinion that would make it worth it compared to the SnapmakerWatch N
