I'm not going to lie, this thing is about the same size as my HD60, but for its size, it packs some better features. The 4KS lets you play at 4K 60, 1440p at 120 hertz, or 1080p at 240 Hz with zero latency. They also advertise lag-free pass through, letting you enjoy VRR pass through in HDR10, but you can only capture it using Windows.

I actually really liked their capture cards when I first used them. And honestly, they were cheaper. Like I actually have two here. Full transparency, one of these is a separate video, but uh these both were about 200. Uh actually, I think it was less. It was more like 180, I think.

I see, so it's either live with 4:2:2 (at best) or fork over the money for a 4K card. I also have a strong suspicion that none of the USB 3.0 devices support 4:4:4/RGB24 1080p60 because it's too close to the maximum sustainable payload data rate (after the protocol overhead) and would be unrealiable on many machines.

On the other hand, the software experience was something I would have wanted improved. While RECentral is capable and generally easy to use, I experienced crashes and hanging while recording. I think AVerMedia has a bit to go to improve their software experience.
