Frequently asked questions
Steelcase Gesture sits at #1 in the S tier of our consolidated board, ranked across independent research runs over 330 cited reviews, videos and discussions. Nine straight years as Wirecutter's top pick, 12-year 24/7 warranty, and the lowest meaningful failure rate in the category. The safest decade-long purchase in office chairs.
Steelcase Leap V2 ranks #2 (A tier). The refurb market exists because these frames refuse to die. 15-year service lives are routine. Slightly less arm range than the Gesture keeps it at two.
Our research places Herman Miller Sayl, Branch Verve, Herman Miller Cosm, Sihoo Doro C300 Pro, IKEA Markus, Autonomous ErgoChair Pro in the bottom tiers (D/F). Herman Miller Sayl: A design object that the field no longer recommends for real work. Outclassed at its price by the Branch Ergonomic Chair Pro and Steelcase Series 1.
