The main option in this price range is the Vaonis Vespera II. While unable to track in an equatorial configuration like most of its competitors, the Vespera II offers the superb IMX585 sensor combined with quadruplet 50mm f/5 optics and a seriously impressive software package, with onboard pre-processing that works much better than other smart telescope apps’ and features like mosaic mode.Read D
I pointed it at Jupiter on a clear night, and the cloud bands came through cleanly, with the great red spot looking almost three-dimensional. For an amateur who doesn't own a separate eyepiece set, that level of optical performance is a huge plus. Smart thermal control is another area where the Vesper II tries to earn its price tag.Watch S
It replaced the original Vespera while costing noticeably less at launch, and it has become one of the default recommendations for anyone who wants deep-sky astrophotography without learning polar alignment, stacking software or collimation. We looked at what it does well, where it falls short, and who should buy it instead of a traditional scope.Read A
If your goal is maximum image detail, a larger smart telescope such as the Seestar S50, Seestar S30 Pro, Vespera 2, or Celestron Origin will have an advantage. But if you want the smallest possible smart telescope that can still capture real deep-sky images, the DWARF mini is a very fun and practical choice.Read R
A limited edition of just 150 units worldwide , Vespera II — X Edition reveals the architecture that makes it the most reliable smart telescope ever built. Its translucent shell showcases precision mechanics, refined optics, and advanced software — the foundation of perfect astrophotography.Read T
The Vaonis Vespera II combines the ease-of-use of other “smart telescopes” with high-quality 50mm quadruplet optics and a 8.3-megapixel camera sensor, bringing performance up to the level of a proper astrophotography rig in a tiny device that sets up in minutes.Read T
Vaonis had done such a good job making astrophotography and exploring astronomy easy to do, which is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of work and effort that went into making Singularity, a mobile app we’ll explore more in just a moment, astounded me.Read L
If you'd rather invest more into one of the best value for money telescopes you can buy, we'd recommend the Vaonis Vespera II. The images are stunning and it's a very reasonable price compared to some of its competitors.Read B
SQUIRREL 13609045 While the aperture and focal length are the same, the Vespera Pro boasts the larger Sony IMX676 colour sensor, which offers 12.5MP resolution versus the Vespera II’s 8.3MP.Read D
Whether capturing galaxies, nebulae, or star clusters, the Vespera II X Edition delivers professional-quality images that reveal the deep universe with ease.Read S
A shorter focal length should help deliver a wider field of view, something that is important when imaging larger deep sky objects like the Andromeda Galaxy.Read F Facebook vaonis

It might well be that the Pro takes longer integration times than the Vespera 2 to produce optimal results. It might be true that the Pro could produce higher contrast in its images with a better matched sensor but if I ever replaced my Vespera with a Pro I could expect my images to be different and probably higher in resolution.Read T r/telescopes u/PresentInsect4957 · owner
Whats drawing me into the vespera is the multi night & mosaic modes as well as scheduling. Software wise this thing is way better than the odyssey. What draws me into the odyssey is the citizen science ability so id be able to record asteroids, comets, cataclysms. Which the vespera cannot (i think).Read thread C
Vespera Pro 2 has 5-element glass and carbon fiber tripod that absorbs vibrations way better than an aluminum one. Also its sensor is great, has anti-dew/fog solution integrated and its mosaic mode is top notch. Lets' not trash it because we all like the S50/Pro - it's not the same quality.Read F
I'll be the first to admit that a fully functional, equatorial-mounted tracking scope with a computer mount could do better, because it can take longer exposures of, for example, 90 seconds, or 5 minutes, or longer. But these setups have a very steep learning curve.Read T r/telescopes u/apumpleBumTums · owner
I was looking at the Vespera II as it seems extremely tailored to both these points. Part of me though, feels like I lose some magic with no eye piece. Like I worry it will place a subconscious wall between me/my kids and the stars as silly as that might sound.Read thread S
It does have one drawback, however, which is its short battery life. It's super portable and easy to carry around, so it's a shame that the battery only lasts for 4 hours, especially when you compare it to the original Vespera which had an 8-hour battery life.Read L
