The new TOTO Washlet S5 and S2 are two of the brand’s most popular bidet seats for modern bathrooms. At first glance, they seem very similar — both include warm-water cleansing, heated seats, warm air drying, and TOTO’s signature hygiene technologies.Read A Alder & Jade Reviews Alder & Jade Reviews · 7.6K subscribers · Oct 2025
I just went and got myself the Toto Washlet S5 because this is the newest, latest, and greatest of the Toto Washlets. Now, we have had a K300 for the past few years. It is hands down my family's favorite toilet bedet seat, and I have tested quite a few, but from what I understand, this is quite a level up in multiple ways.Watch S

Main pros for me are that this seat is fabulous. It's very comfortable for me. I do know some people find the Toto seats to be a little more narrow. They do round a little more. But I really love it. And the nozzle, the pressure on this, and the control are fabulous. I specifically love that you can have up to four custom settings.Watch E
The S5 uses a warm water wash that starts instantly and stays warm the entire time. You can choose between oscillating or pulsating spray modes, and adjust the pressure and position to match what feels right for you.Read A Alder & Jade Reviews Alder & Jade Reviews · 7.6K subscribers · Oct 2025

For those who appreciate precision, comfort, and a beautifully considered design, the TOTO S5 D-Shape Washlet delivers a sophisticated solution to everyday hygiene.Read L
I have not had that issue with the S5. The temperature has stayed consistent during normal use. The remote has rear wash, soft rear wash, and front wash options. I can adjust the water pressure, temperature, and wand position. There are also oscillating and pulsating settings. I usually keep the pressure near the middle and make small changes to the wand position.Watch M

What stood out to me pretty quickly is that this one doesn't feel like a random add-on. It feels like a product that was thought through for everyday use. The biggest difference in real use is the instant water heating. With some bidet seats, you get warm water for a short time and then it starts to cool off. Here, the water stays warm the whole time I'm using it. That makes a real difference.Watch P
Don't let the word "entry" fool you—this is a fully-featured, luxury bidet seat that delivers exceptional performance.Read T
I think it makes the most sense for someone who wants warm water washing, a heated seat, odor control, and a dryer in one unit. It can also be useful for anyone with limited mobility who finds cleaning with toilet paper difficult. The main feature I noticed right away was the continuous warm water. The S5 heats water as it is needed instead of storing a small amount in a tank.Watch C

The wash performance is where this seat really earns its place. The rear wash, soft rear wash, and front wash all feel consistent. The oscillating and pulsating settings are not something I use every single time, but they are nice to have. I found the spray to be gentle enough for regular use, and it still felt effective. Some cheaper bidet seats I've tried felt either too sharp or too weak.Watch I Instagram Article

If you're thinking about picking one up, I just want to walk you through my experience. The model I have is the S SW3446-12 in Sedona beige. It fits an elongated toilet, so checking the bowl shape and measurements before buying is important. The color has a warm beige tone. It works well with neutral tile and older beige bathroom fixtures, but it will look noticeably different on a white toilet.Watch B
The biggest highlight here is the instantaneous water heating system. In real-world use, this means you get continuous warm water for cleansing without relying on a small stored tank. Compared to basic bidets that run out of warm water mid-use, this creates a much more consistent and comfortable experience every time. Another standout feature is ewater+ technology.Watch T
If you're looking to upgrade your bathroom experience beyond traditional toilet paper and enter the world of premium Japanese style bidets, stick around and click the link in bio because this is one of the most advanced bidet seats available, but there are still some practical considerations you need to understand before buying.Watch T
The biggest highlight of this model is its instantaneous warm water system. Unlike older bidets that rely on a limited reservoir, this system provides continuous warm water for as long as you need it. This makes the experience more comfortable and consistent, especially for users who prefer longer or more adjustable cleansing cycles.Watch 4
The temperature remains stable and consistent, which makes the experience feel refined rather than mechanical. There's no sudden burst of cold water and no anxiety about timing. The cleansing stream itself can be adjusted with pulsating and oscillating modes. And these are not gimmicks.Watch T
What if I told you that the most transformative bathroom experience I've ever had was made possible by a revolutionary toilet seat that not only changed the way I clean myself, but also raised the bar for luxury and comfort. Now, for the Toto S5, the strengths for it are that it has a stronger, more controlled water flow. So, I really, really enjoy the pressure and the focus. It also has four presets.Watch B
That single feature creates a noticeably smoother experience, especially alongside Primis technology, e-water plus self-cleing, adjustable warm water washing, a heated seat, warm air drying, and automatic deodorizing. We've even had some customers say that the seat on the S7/S7A feels tight to them, so it's very individual. If you happen to be anywhere near Michigan, we have a bidet showroom where you can try multiple options, including the S7A. And if you're not married to a WASHLET+ system with the cords and hoses hidden, you could look at one of the bidets in the NOVA line .Read T
I would check the color carefully before ordering because it may look slightly different depending on the bathroom lighting. The S5 has a fairly slim shape for an electric bidet seat. There is still a raised section at the back because that area holds the heater and other components. It does not look as bulky as an older seat with a water tank, but the rear section is noticeable.Watch F
Installing the S5 was complicated, though ideally you won’t have to do this often. While the actual process mirrored other bidet installations, Toto’s instructions were at times obtuse. Aesthetically, the S5 is simple and streamlined; it blends well into bathrooms.Read A
The included instructions are very picture-based, and a few steps were not as clear as I would have liked. If you're comfortable with basic household installation, it's manageable, but I definitely found it easier after watching a video explanation. The mounting grommets can be tight, and a simple trick that helped was lightly rinsing them with water before pushing them into place.Watch M
It may not be the right choice if budget is the primary concern (the Brondell Swash 1400 is worth considering at a lower price point) or if you specifically want a fully automatic experience with an auto-opening lid and auto flush (look at the S7A instead).Read T

It ranks #3 (A tier) on our consolidated bidets board, drawn from 38 cited sources across 26 outlets.
Slightly higher price than the C3.
The Toto Washlet S5 is for people who want Toto's reliability with a more premium feature set. It sits in A tier at rank 3, shares the reliable warm-water delivery and quiet motor of the Toto Washlet C5, and carries a solid warranty. If you do not need the extra features, the Toto Washlet C5 is the only S tier product on our bidets board and costs less. If spray strength is your priority, the Coway Bidetmega 500S in A tier has the strongest pressure.
Buy the Toto Washlet C5 unless a specific premium feature on the Toto Washlet S5 matters to you. Both deliver reliable warm water from a quiet motor, and the C5 ranks higher on our board at S tier. The S5 costs more, which is its only recorded drawback, so the extra spend only pays if you want the upgraded feature set.
Our research recorded no durability failures for the Toto Washlet S5. Reviewers describe its warm-water delivery as reliable and its motor as quiet, and it carries a solid warranty. Toto is the most consistent brand on our board, with the Toto Washlet C5 also praised for long-lasting firmware updates.
Yes. The Toto Washlet S5 is an electric seat and its warm water and heated functions draw power. Fit it near a grounded GFCI outlet, as most bathroom codes require. If the nearest outlet is across the room, plan for an electrician before buying.
Electric seats come in round and elongated versions, so measure from the seat bolts to the front of the bowl before ordering. Most two-piece toilets work. One-piece toilets with a tank that curves forward can block the seat or its side controls, so check the clearance behind the seat bolts.
