The new $225 Pebble Time 2 smartwatch feels like a toy, and we mean that in the best sense of the word. The refreshed version of the indie smartwatch brand, rebooted by its original founder, feels casual, fun, and playful, — not like a mini-computer on your wrist. Its quirky watch faces and simple apps and games give it a sort of hacker energy, while its physical buttons, e-paper screen, and long battery life provide its retro vibes.Read M
The result is the closest thing to a tech time capsule I've seen in a while, a smartwatch with a soul that dates back nearly 15 years, made for people who've spent the time in between yearning for what they'd lost.Watch Y
Even with these issues, I don't regret switching to the Pebble Time 2 . It might sound a bit odd, but after using the extremely polished Apple Watch for so long, I've found the Pebble Time 2's rougher edges are a big part of its charm. I like that its watch faces can sometimes be a bit wonky, and that updates for the wearable seem to arrive almost daily. I even appreciate that its design isn't entirely perfect.Read C
The fact that this watch even exists is actually a small miracle, and I'll tell you the whole absurd story behind it in a moment. But first, a quick rundown of the key details: The Pebble Time 2 can now be ordered to Germany for US$225 without any waiting time. Please add shipping and import VAT to that price.Watch A
I love my Onyx Boox tablets, and the e-paper panel on the Pebble Time 2 is excellent. It’s sharp and saturated, and it’s remarkably viewable. Yes, it’s going to lose out to an OLED screen in less-than-ideal lighting, but the backlight on the Pebble Time 2 is bright and customizable. I’ll also accept the trade-off of better battery life for the always-on display over an OLED screen.Read J
I can't tell you how happy I am this exists.Watch P
There is no denying that the Pebble Time 2 has notable, objective flaws, but its subjective appeal to software tinkerers and techies who love to have fun vastly outweighs them. In fact, in numerous instances, the creativity behind developer efforts often stemmed precisely from to these flaws or limitations.Read D

Ten years after I backed the ill-fated Pebble Time 2 on Kickstarter, a watch bearing that exact name finally arrived on my doorstep. The 2026 Pebble Time 2 is a brilliant nod to the 2015 original, retaining its signature 64-color e-paper display, tactile four-button layout, and legendary battery life.Read D

As such, I was looking forward to trying the wearable and seeing whether someone like me (i.e., a person with no interest in creating my own watch face or rewriting my smartwatch's code) could use and enjoy the Time 2.Read A

You know, after like 10 years. You know, this thing originally was scheduled for leap for release in uh, 2016. Uh, but 10 years later we finally get it, which is nice. You can buy it for $230 in a uh, wide range of colors and everything. Um, yeah.Watch Y

There are things I like about the Garmin, but in terms of the user interface, the Pebble has it beat hands down, especially for managing notifications and navigating through them, as well as audio controls. The Pebble is also much thinner.Watch J

Um it has been fantastic. I love this watch absolutely to more than I did my original Pebble and I will definitely wear this for years to come just like I did my original Pebble Time.Watch B
It's a full-on game changer that's making tech fun again in a world drowning in sterile, health-obsessed gadgets. Mind-blowing, right? This thing brings back the joy we all used to feel when tech felt personal and playful.Watch S

So, at first when I was unboxing this thing, I was like, "Oh, the viewing angles are like really bad on it." But, it's not true. This is e-paper, but it's not e-ink. It's this kind of like weird form of LCD, which allows the animations to be extremely like smooth.Watch S
The device features solid, capable hardware, impressive endurance, and a unique transflective display. However, navigating the software highlights significant gaps, including poor notification syncing and the frustrating absence of a dedicated text messaging app. Ultimately, this watch feels like a true passion project for the dedicated enthusiast.Read S

I would say they are slightly looser than your typical smartphone buttons, but it still feels good. There's two microphones and a speaker assuming it's going to be these openings here. On the back is its health sensors for sleep and heart rate. You also get a step counter. Above that is the magnetic charge contacts which is the same as the Pebble Time Steel 2 dual and the original Pebble Time Steel. I still use the original Pebble Time Steel's charge cable to charge my newer Pebbles. So, let's get this paired up and check it out. First, let's check out its biggest feature, the new screen.Watch M

The Pebble Time 2 is the perfect revival of the watch that once set the standard for smartwatches. Beyond simply being a smarter wristwatch, the core of Pebble was providing more software right on the wrist that could be used either in conjunction with a smartphone or independently. Let's learn more about Pebble Time 2. Design and comfort. The original Pebble was made of somewhat plastic, which was understandable given its affordable price compared to high-end competitors. While design trends have shifted to make other smartwatches look like traditional watches, Pebble has maintained a design that is instantly recognizable as a tech product. The Pebble 2 hasn't changed much.Watch ʜ
So, the cons are the screen is not that good.Watch
