I got the Garmin instinct 3 tactical for work and it’s my all time favorite. It has a g shock type look to it and it’s just as durable. Health tracking, step counting are all good on the watch. As mentioned previously, a drawback is it has the gen4 sensor and not the current gen 5 sensor. Still good at tracking health data and workout data. The gps is just bread crumbs but works good to get you back to where you need to be. You can’t go wrong buying this watch!Read thread D
I think it's generally pretty cool and it's executed super well.Watch C
The Garmin Instinct 3 Solar is a great choice for outdoor adventurers, endurance athletes, and anyone who prioritizes durability and battery life in a GPS watch. Thanks to solar charging, it can last for days and even weeks at a time, making it perfect for extended backcountry trips. It’s highly accurate and comes loaded with features like different activity types, route navigation, waypoints, and breadcrumb tracking.Read P
What it does have is an extremely robust construction. These guys are going to be nice and rubberized. They have a nice metal bezel around them. You get a nice rubber wrist strap from the factory. So, ruggedness is something Garmin had in mind when they were designing this. So, all of your rain, mud, all that stuff.Watch P
The Garmin Instinct 3 is a beautiful, bold smartwatch built to handle everything from a brisk afternoon walk to going off-grid camping for over a week. With a rugged design, shockingly long battery life, and highly detailed health and wellness features, it can be on your wrist for a massive 34% off right now. Amazon has the Instinct 3 on sale for less than $300, down an impressive $150 from its $449.99 asking price.Read D
So, the previous generation crossover was a good-looking watch, but I think they really stepped it up with this. And I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the display is a lot larger. But they're also able to do much more when it comes to the style since they can do basically whatever they wanted to for colors with this kind of display. But not only that, they've also come up with some new kind of neat tricks of how these analog hands work with the rest of the interface. Now, the official name for this is the Instinct Crossover, but that was also the same name for their last hybrid Instinct.Watch T
The Garmin Instinct 3 is an extremely durable watch, easily outperforming most competitors. It also offers a solid battery life and a more affordable price point than most Garmin watches. Compared with the Race 2, the Instinct 3 slightly sacrifices display quality and mapping. But its rugged construction and lasting battery life make it a contender. Both, realistically, are excellent watches with a couple little odd things about them, but we're going to go over them because I have spent 4 years with this one and about a year and a half with this one just returning back from a lengthy deployment. And I have abused this watch and I have some things to talk about it. As in, did it perform well? What were the negatives? Price point, durability, all that stuff. If it could survive what I just went through, realistically, it was pretty decent. You know, it uh it was getting scraped up against stuff in the dirt, in the mud, all over the place.Watch H
Garmin built this around solar charging and physical buttons instead of smartwatch features, and after weeks on the trail it does exactly that without fuss. The catch is no onboard maps and an interface less polished than the Fenix. If you want maps on your wrist, the Enduro 3 is worth the extra money.Read O

If you want to watch that feels indestructible, but still tells you something meaningful about your training, this is your bridge. Secondly, you actually see these on cops, soldiers, and first responders. Guys, I see Instincts every single day at work. Deputies, cops, military folks, firefighters, you name it. This line of watches is everywhere in real-world duty environments. And the tactical version of this fits directly into that world. With one button, you get access to your current lat/long and MGRS.Watch T

This watch is incredibly rugged, boasts the look of a classic auto sports watch, and offers many great features, especially an astonishing battery life. Currently priced around $400 to $500, it's considered a mid-range model by Gamin and is significantly more affordable than the Fenix 8 and Dual 3 or Tactics 8.Watch F Facebook James Rosewarn · owner
I am beating mine too, 24/7 on my wrist no matter where am I or what am I doing, these watches are made for thisView post H
Um I can say that the screen here far easier to read just like the color and clarity than what my original one was. Like it's significantly different. I don't have any trouble whether it is out in daylight and that's usually where my other one would give me issues which is in like really bright sun. Uh, this one gives me no trouble whatsoever. Even just kind of on the move, kind of walking and moving at the same time. I don't have any any issues reading this one.Watch F Facebook David Winchester · owner

Honestly, this is where Garmin continues to shine. Whether you're tracking a morning run, hiking for hours, cycling, or simply wearing it all day at work, the Instinct 3 feels incredibly dependable. Navigation is fast, menus respond quickly, and workouts start almost instantly. GPS accuracy remains one of the biggest strengths. Multi-band GNSS support keeps location tracking impressively accurate, even under dense tree cover or between tall buildings. That's especially valuable if you rely on pace or distance data during training. Health tracking is equally impressive. Heart rate, sleep monitoring, stress tracking, recovery metrics, body battery, and training readiness all work together to provide a much bigger picture than simply counting steps.Watch F Facebook Nathan Warrington · owner

Garmin instinct 3 Solar - the best watch for its price!Watch P
The Garmin Instinct 3 Tactical Dual Power 45 mm, especially paired with the nylon band, has been the best experience so far. Now, of course, I wish I could have figured this out from the start, saving me from buying four different Instinct 3 models before coming to this conclusion, but it's really been great. Now, I would be remiss to not mention some of the potential negatives with this watch. Again, not enough for me to change my decision, but something you might want to consider. Of course, the MIP screen just isn't as flashy, is not as exciting.Watch

They are great watches, but their durability is limited by the non-replaceable battery. This means the manufacturer does not expect the watch to last more than 6 years or so (being generous). Even if they are built to take a beating, I think you'll find them to be less durable than the better G-Shocks. Nobody manufactures a product to last 20 years of they know the consumer will replace it after 7 years or less. If you want the many extra features that a Garmin offers over a G-Shock, go for it, just don't expect it to last as long.Read thread U

Well, Garmin sent us one, and in addition to all of that there’s a bunch of genuinely useful stuff here, that you also get on the non-tactical version – if I were buying this watch then the standard Instinct 3 Solar, at £80 less, would definitely be my pick.Read M
Actually, when I actually brought this watch home, my wife immediately said that she loved the color and the style of this limited edition version of the Instinct E, which was a little ironic just because I had just put out a video that very same day titled Garmin's failed E strategy.Watch G r/GarminWatches u/Traditional_Fun472 · owner
So really I'd say as a survival tool it's pretty excellent UNLESS you want any form of location data that doesn't involve using your phone. I've seen people get maps onto the amoled version for what it's worth. I had the 50mm mips solar.Read thread O

The Instinct 3 struggles with some third-party integrations like AB Quantum and Insta Go 3s, plus Bosch Kiox 300 ebike connections. Garmin Pay via the phone app isn’t available for Instinct 3, and there’s a known dispute affecting Garmin-Strava syncing for some users.View post T

Would I buy a Garmin again? Most likely not. There is little value in wearing it daily — it only really makes sense to put it on specifically for workouts.View post D
And unfortunately, it's been nothing but a letdown. First off, there's been nothing but positive things on the internet about this watch. Which I guess if you've never had a smart watch or you've only been with Garmin, this is a great watch. But if you were coming from an Apple Watch or a Samsung like I was, this watch does nothing but fail your expectations. First off, I've done I'm not going to go over every single feature. There's way too much to go through. And the thing is, I think this watch has way too many features and a lot of which are unnecessary. Let me start off with I I've already done a lot of customization.Watch
