Now both work and we really like the flexibility there. The other flexibility that Onkyo gives you is the ability to run their proprietary AccuEQ room calibration system that they've had in their products for a number of year before introducing Dirac Live. So this time running through the initial setup instead of choosing Dirac I am choosing AccuEQ room calibration.Watch S Spencer's Stuff Facebook post

Nobody in this AVR space is doing that right now making it the top item in lots of wish lists. Included in the box, Onkyo provides a Speaker setup microphone. It’s about the same you would expect from Denon and it worked just fine for me.Watch T

I hope you have not bought it. That seems a really dreadful receiver. It power limits at higher power levels higher than about 20 to 30watts to 20 watts per channel to protect it. The DAC seems to be poor, especially when bass management is engaged. So it seems you will really have to use it in pure mode only. So no point in buying a sub. So you need full range speakers.Read A
And if it wasn't for Dirac Live, it has a very harsh sound signature, even on the Emotiva speaker set I just got. It's as if the hearing of the sound engineers that designed HiFi audio gear was completely different in the '70s and '80s than those who did the same from the '90s until today. Even the most respected brands started having an awful sound quality.Read
