In addition, NZXT does not rely on its own platform for the C850 SFX Gold, but rather on an OEM from Channel Well Technology, or CWT. This is a sensible approach at first glance, because in the power supply segment in particular, it is not so much the name on the box that matters as the actual implementation of the platform. In this case, the components documented in the report already show that no cheap solution is being used here. Rubycon as the bulk capacitor, Japanese 105-degree capacitors according to the manufacturer’s specifications, a modern APFC and LLC topology, synchronous rectification to 12 volts, and DC-DC converters for the auxiliary lines form a solid technical foundation.

So, in collaboration with NZX, we wanted to bring you the CE 850 power supply because we think that list is now NZX. Let's list the features of This power supply and its key features: Let's start by saying that it's a modular power supply. You know there are modular power supplies, and even modular ones, or even cellular ones if you want all the wiring connected together. What does this mean? Being modular, we only have to use the wiring we need. This way, we achieve a much cleaner and lighter assembly. We're also talking about a single-rail power supply.

The NZXT C850 SFX Gold is a technically impressive 850-watt SFX power supply that demonstrates its strengths not with grand claims but with a well-rounded overall performance. The electrical performance is clean, the efficiency is very good for this form factor, the regulation is tight, the ripple is negligible, and the protection mechanisms are complete—save for the lack of fan failure detection. Add to that ATX 3.1, a native 12V 2×6 connector, and a very compact design that proves immediately practical in real SFF applications.
