The 14+2+1 power delivery design should allow the 9700X to unleash its full potential without any issues, and overclocking shouldn’t be an issue, since this board is designed to handle a much higher TDP than the 9700X offers. There are two Gen5 SSD slots, which is great as you can stack high-capacity drives for extreme storage capacity.

It's about 700 bucks, so it's pretty expensive, but wow, do you get a lot of features with this thing. It would keep me busy for weeks and of tuning.

It’s crazy to see how many M.2 slots you get even before you utilise the Xpander. That’s 2 Gen5 128Gbps, 2 Gen4 64Gbps and 1 Gen4 32Gbps on the PCB. The Xpander has two Gen5 128Gbps slots. Hell I’ve got masses of stuff on my drives and even I’d be left with one spare slot. It shows how extreme the Godlike X-Edition is.

So, it's been top tier all the way, even though this is one of their top tier boards. One of the most attractive things around the X870e architecture has to be the PCIe lanes. Not only do you get 40 PCIe lanes, you also get features like the USB type-C 40 gig ports which obviously help you move that data across USB cables a lot faster.

The rear IO on the X870E Godlike X has a lot going on, as you’d expect. The black background with white writing allows for easy reading and properly labels each port so you know exactly what it is. Starting with USB ports, there are a total of 15 , with seven of them being USB Type-C!

If you aren’t comfortable with the board, you could go ASUS and save a little money and get a little better CPU.
