The biggest reason to consider Lorex is image quality. Depending on the specific bundle, Lorex offers true 4K cameras with 8-megapixel resolution, giving you considerably more detail than traditional 1080p cameras. That extra resolution can be useful when you need to identify faces, vehicles, packages, or other details in recorded footage.

Great image quality and value and form factor; no cloud/monthly crap. My only gripe is how they implemented the mechanical chime interface. They essentially short the terminals for a second and the doorbell runs on a small internal battery. That battery wears out after a year or so. Then, whenever people ring your doorbell, it reboots because it loses power.

The system is good, but not perfect. Recording and playback. Because it records continuously, not just on motion, you don't risk missing an event. Flipping through hours of footage is mostly smooth. The timeline scrubbing feels decent for a security system.

I have to say this is kind of disappointing to me because I was really hoping that that 4K was going to look better. This is the 4K image and here is the 1080p image. The 1080 has a better resolution, better overall quality.

Keep in mind that a single 1 TB drive handles about 20 days of continuous 4K recording from one camera. We had four cameras running simultaneously and maxed out in five days.
