OLED monitors can offer a highly immersive experience, with strong image quality helping bring content to life. The LG UltraGear 39GX950B-B (Evo GX9) provides this, with a large high resolution OLED screen. The monitor has a low-profile metal base plate for the stand and dual-stage bezels, with a panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus hard outer part.

This is the new centerpiece of my desk. It's the LG UltraGear 39 GX950B. And beside it, something that I wasn't sure I was going to love at first. It's my 32-in Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 turned vertically. It sounds unconventional and maybe even overkill. But, after using this combo for a while, don't think I can ever go back.

The LG UltraGear evo 39GX950B pairs a 39-inch curved OLED panel with unusually sharp 5K2K resolution, making it a rare fit for both cinematic PC games and multi-window desk work. Its 165Hz native mode and 330Hz lower-resolution mode give it real range. The key tradeoffs are OLED care, demanding 5K2K graphics requirements, a matte finish, and VRR flicker in variable-frame-rate games.

This display is so anticipated because of its potential sweet spot size, coming in notably larger than 34-in ultrawides that we've had for some time, but smaller than the massive 45-in ultrawide that was LG's flagship in 2025. While quite good, it has some deal breakers (at least for me) and I’ll explain why: Firstly, what the 39GX950B does right: The Size (good) The 39” form factor is pretty much perfect. I always felt that 34” was a bit too skinny and lacked the vertical height that the 32” remedied perfectly. This is truly the best of both worlds.

The Dell U4025QW vs LG 39GX950B-B choice is a dock or a gaming panel. Both show 5120x2160 on a 40-inch ultrawide, so desktop space ties. The gap nobody publishes as a number is the bend: the LG’s edges sit 68 mm forward of centre, the Dell’s only 43 mm. That 25 mm changes how the desk feels.

Where it is actually supported, mainly for non-4K external devices and consoles, we thought this upscaling function worked well and offered some good improvements in sharpness and image detail for lower resolution content which could be really handy for those scenario.
