The IKEA Trotten desk is a good starting point for anyone setting up a sit stand workspace at home. Many people eventually choose to replace the top for something sturdier and more personal. Swapping in a solid wood surface, especially oak, brings more strength and long term value.Read T
This new IKEA Trotten is way better built than the IKEA LINNMON I was using before, not as thick of a desk, but much heavier - just make sure to mount the table legs a bit closer together to prevent it from bending in the middle (or just add a third table leg).Watch B

It's available very cheaply from the Swedish furniture retailer and normally the tabletop on this model is adjusted by hand using a crank. I quickly got tired of that. I wanted to automate the adjustment of the desk. There are various DIY projects online that have equipped this table with a motor and an Arduino or an ESP32, for example. However, that was too complicated for me. But since I have Home Assistant and Ziggb2 MQTT at home, I have worked out this simple solution here.Watch
