Now when we come over to the Hill's Science Diet, Um, can see that the AAFCO statement, again, they do feeding trials, which is amazing, and we do have um, a specific life stage for maintenance of adult dogs. And again, we know that this is a grain-inclusive diet because in the title it says it is a chicken and barley formula. Now, the protein we can see here is at 23.8, which again is right below um, where it should be, at below 30%. The fat is at 15%, again, right where it should be, below 20 um, on a dry matter basis.

Like the previous formula, and many Hill’s Science Diet recipes, this dry food relies primarily on animal-sourced protein and fat but still contains a significant amount of starchy carbohydrate. Chicken muscle meat is the primary ingredient, supplemented with additional protein from chicken meal and egg product. It’s likely that the corn gluten meal and whole grain corn contribute to the food’s 32.2% dry matter protein content, but it’s hard to say how much. Overall, this recipe appears to be a hit with cats and their owners. Numerous customers comment that the smaller-than-average kibbles are easy for their cats to eat and many owners of picky cats say this recipe is a feline favorite.

Is Hill’s Science Diet Indoor good for a Norwegian Forest Cat? The short answer from this hills science diet indoor cat food review: it’s a solid, safe, well-researched general food — good for a healthy adult NFC with no hairball or weight-management needs. It is not engineered for the breed’s specific coat and jaw characteristics the way Royal Canin’s NFC formula is. Does this food help with NFC hairballs? As this hills science diet indoor cat food review found, it contains general fiber for digestive support but no hairball-specific fiber system (like psyllium). NFC owners managing frequent hairballs typically see better results from a formula engineered specifically for hair transit.
