952 LP on the category ladder what's LP?

The mainstream default, and rightly so under this lens. Not the most durable brand here, but the support network and parts ubiquity are unmatched.

In our measurements and recording tests, we couldn’t detect any flaws in the performance. It sounded practically the same as the other interfaces we tested, except when we engaged the Air button, which we’d use sporadically, at most. The 4th Gen model’s headphone output delivered 34 milliwatts into 32 ohms. That's only 1 mW more than the previous model and about one-third the output of the UA Volt 2 and Volt 276 models. Still, that’s enough to power most popular studio headphones, and it even did okay with some 600-ohm Beyerdynamic headphones we tried.

Focusrite has packed the Scarlett 4th Gen with smart features designed to prevent ruined takes. The Auto Gain button listens to your performance for ten seconds and automatically sets the perfect recording level, which is incredibly useful for solo artists who can't reach the interface while playing. The Clip Safe feature runs in the background, constantly monitoring the input level. If you sing too loud or hit an instrument too hard, Clip Safe instantly reduces the preamp gain to prevent digital clipping, ensuring your take is never distorted.

And final verdict the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 anniversary edition, it's very premium premium feeling audio interface that still live up to the Scarlett name because like I said, I've been looking at these for years and I've been looking at a lot of podcasts have them. That's why I was interested in one in the beginning uh especially with the solo. Again, it's it's delivered pretty much a solid entry-level to mid-level creator audio setup.

The ubiquitous Scarlett 2i2 is the go-to recommendation for first-time interface buyers, and the fourth gen adds features that solve common problems faced by beginners. Auto Gain eliminates the guesswork of setting input levels, and Clip Safe saves you from input distortion if you record too loud. Meanwhile, a major overhaul of the 2i2’s preamps (with 69dB of gain, up from 56dB) mean it’s now got enough juice to comfortably handle low-output mics like the Shure SM7B without needing an extra in-line preamp.

It's not hyperbole to say any of the interfaces here will do a great job at recording audio, but if I were to go for a single all-rounder, it'd have to be the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen . It performs brilliantly on Windows and Mac, has a boatload of features, and is reasonably priced. For those who are just starting out and want something to grow into, the Audient iD4 MKII is a brilliant audio interface that's easy to use but has plenty of depth on offer.

The Scarlett 2i2 Gen 4 solved the one problem that made its predecessors less than ideal for demanding dynamic mics: gain. With 69dB of gain, it drives the Shure SM7B cleanly without a Cloudlifter. The three preamp modes (Clean, Air, Drive) let you shape the character of your signal at the hardware level. Auto-gain measures your voice and sets the optimal gain automatically. Two inputs supports two-host setups.

I’ve personally used both the Scarlett 2i2 and the larger 18i20 extensively, and they’ve been absolutely fantastic. The 18i20 in particular is one of those interfaces that quietly earns its reputation by simply working day after day without drama. For singer-songwriters, podcasters, content creators, and smaller home studios, the Scarlett 2i2 is still one of the best value interfaces available today.
