But after watching it in action and tasting the results, I can honestly say it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. For anyone not familiar, a plet grill is basically a smoker and a grill powered by wood pellets. You fill the hopper, the compartment on the side, with wood pellets, plug it in, and then set the temperature with a dial.

With this one, once it settles in, it stays where I tell it to stay most of the time. It uses a controller that is basically always correcting itself, which sounds fancy, but in real life, it just means I can put ribs on, close the lid, and not feel like I have to check it every 10 minutes. In person, it looks like a serious backyard cooker.

It turns woodf fired cooking into something calm and predictable. And the food that comes off it tastes like I put in way more effort than I actually did. I would put this in the pellet grill category, which is that sweet spot between a smoker and a traditional backyard grill. It is best for anyone who wants real wood flavor without babysitting a fire.
