And two of my very favorite all-in-one car seats, car seats that start from newborn and go all the way up to booster, are the Nuna Exec and the Britax One4Life.Watch T
I love how cushy the upholstery feels and that the back of the seat is ventilated to keep babies cool and dry. I also appreciate that there are magnets on each side to hold the harness open and the crotch buckle is designed to be springy and stay forward when not in use so you don’t have to dig under your kid’s butt to find it every time.Read M

Where the One4Life falls a little short is comfort. The padding is firmer than it looks, and despite the seat's solid construction, it lacks the plush feel of its Chicco or Evenflo counterparts. That said, the lack of extra padding is what helps make it one of the thinner seats of the bunch, so it's the necessary sacrifice for making it so compact.Read B
However, I did find that it's a bit bulky when you need to move it between cars, but it's not a dealbreaker. On to the pros and cons. Let's start with the pros. First, the build quality is impressive. The steel frame and safe cell technology give you peace of mind when it comes to safety. The slim design is fantastic for space saving.Watch B
While it's easier to fit across seats, it can feel a bit snug if you're trying to squeeze in other bulky car seats. That said, I still think it's one of the best options for multi-car seat families. Also, while the machine washable fabrics are a godsend, I do wonder if they'll hold up over the course of 10 years of use.Watch B
However, while the seat seems to grow with your child, I did notice that the rear-facing configuration takes up quite a bit of space.Watch

I shouldn’t be looking at having to replace my very expensive car seat 2 years in. For context, my husband has a Graco convertible seat, which is used/washed just as much, if not more, and his seat is in almost perfect condition.Read B

Frequently asked questions
It ranks #6 (C tier) on our consolidated baby car seats board, drawn from 26 cited sources across 20 outlets.
Parents who want one seat to cover the whole childhood rather than an infant carrier. Reviewers praise the Britax One4Life Slim for excellent safety, a long lifespan and a space-efficient design, and Britax's reputation for durable construction. It sits in C tier at rank 6 because the board's strongest evidence is for infant carriers, not because of any recorded complaint. If you want a carrier you can click in and out for the first year, the Chicco KeyFit 35 is the S tier pick.
For most people the Chicco KeyFit 35, the rank 1 infant seat, if the first year is what you are buying for. If you specifically want a seat that stays in the car and grows with the child, the Britax One4Life Slim is the best-placed option of that kind on our board. The Graco Extend2Fit Convertible sits below it with a note of earlier wear, and the Graco 4Ever DLX is in D tier.
A long lifespan is one of the repeated findings for the Britax One4Life Slim, and it is built to take a child from rear-facing through forward-facing and into booster mode. The practical limit is the expiry date moulded into the shell, typically around a decade from manufacture for a seat of this type.
Our research records a high safety rating and reliable safety for the Britax One4Life Slim, with no safety complaints. Keep the child rear-facing as long as the seat's limits allow, since that is the safest way to ride whatever the seat.
Its space-efficient design is one of the reasons reviewers recommend the Britax One4Life Slim, and a narrow seat is the first requirement for three across. Whether three fit depends on the width of your back seat and the other two seats, so measure before you buy. Our board does not record a measured width.
