My favorite thing about the Uppababy Alta V2 high-back booster seat is how easy it is to get the seatbelt right, something that is incredibly important for overall safety. Like most high-backs, it has a belt-routing notch for the top of the shoulder belt. In addition, the high armrests and lap belt positioner help ensure kids get their seatbelt on right every time.

The UPPAbaby Ridge V2 is one of my favorite all-terrain jogging strollers and in this I'm going to be giving my honest review walking through it from top to bottom and helping you decide if this is the right option for your family. >> If you're new here, I'm Emily. I'm the Stroller Mom, a mom of three and a car seat passenger safety tech.

Another vote for Uppababy Cruz! We have the V2 and I LOVE it. It's super maneuverable (I frequently scoot it around with one hand), basket space is great, super easy to pack up into the car and I'm yet to have had any issue with the brakes!

It is incredible that this seat has both. The seat also has what's called smart secure. That is this red piece right here. When the seat is correctly installed in the car, that piece is actually going to turn green to let me know, hey, it's installed properly. So, this is a communication piece that they have on pretty much all their car seats, which is awesome. So, we'll free our lower anchor.

The easiest for kids to buckle themselves in were, once again, the two Peg Perego seats and the UPPAbaby Alta v2 . The two Peg seats have narrower seat bottoms, making it easier to access the vehicle buckle insert.

Super excited to be with you here today at UPAB to go over the brand new Arya V2. So Arya V2 I'm holding over here in my left hand, which would be on your right side. And then over here we've got the original Arya.

This is UppaBaby Aria V2, one of the lightest infant car seat you can find. It just weighs at 6 lbs. Yeah, that's right, only 6 lbs compared to like your average infant car seats out there, maybe around like 10 lbs.

It's been a fantastic stroller. So happy that we got this one because we've been able to basically transition from him being a little guy up until like a full-blown little kiddo. And and we have the car seat. The car seat's just in our basement. I just I'm not going to go pull it out, but we've used it for for our oldest.

In practice, the booster holds up well. The side impact protection is reassuring, and the comfort level is solid, especially on long car rides. The headrest gives good support and the seat seems to mold to the child's body as they grow. Plus, the slim design means it's not bulky and fits well in tighter spaces. Something that's always a win for parents with smaller cars.

Setting up the system is pretty straightforward. The stroller unfolds and folds with ease, which is a big win for parents who are juggling multiple tasks. The car seat clicks in and out with minimal effort. And the magnetic harness system makes adjusting the straps a breeze.

Setting up the Alta V2 was surprisingly easy. The latch connectors clicked into place without a hitch and adjusting the headrest took just a few moments. My child was able to sit comfortably and I didn't notice any shifting or readjusting of the seat during the ride. The real test came during a long road trip where I appreciated the slim design.

The standout feature here is the active support headrest that adjusts across seven different positions, making it a perfect long-term option as your child grows. It's also got that classic highback booster design, which means added safety.

The one-handed recline feature is fantastic, especially if you're juggling a diaper bag or other gear. I had no trouble adjusting the seat to the perfect angle for my toddler, whether she was ready to nap or stay alert and curious. Setting it up was straightforward, and I found that the one-step fold is incredibly intuitive. No more wrestling with a stroller that refuses to collapse.

Um I love it because the headrest, so I have a 7-year-old who um still weighs lb, and so she's outgrown the height on her Nuna Rava. Um but I wanted a high back booster for her, and this is so great. So, the height um extends uh quite a bit. Um, so I like that. It's very soft. She thinks it's very comfortable. It has the um, armrest here and then this is what I love about it.

Frequently asked questions

It ranks #7 (C tier) on our consolidated baby car seats board, drawn from 23 cited sources across 12 outlets.

Subpar side-impact protection. Cumbersome installation.

Parents already committed to an UPPAbaby stroller who want the matching infant seat. Travel-system integration is the one thing reviewers single out, alongside a long-term warranty and good value. It sits in C tier at rank 7 because reviewers also report subpar side-impact protection and a cumbersome installation. If the stroller pairing is not essential, buy the Chicco KeyFit 35 instead.

The Chicco KeyFit 35, our rank 1 seat, which is praised for exactly the two things the UPPAbaby Alta V2 is criticised for: easy, reliable installation and the highest safety rating among infant seats. The Nuna PIPA RX is the other S tier pick if you want a more premium build. Both work with most major strollers through adapters.

Two complaints recur in our research. Side-impact protection is rated subpar, which is the more serious of the two. Installation is described as cumbersome, which matters because a loose install reduces protection further. No buckle or harness failures are recorded.

Harder than it should be. Cumbersome installation is one of the two recorded complaints for the UPPAbaby Alta V2, though some reviewers still list easy installation among its strengths, so experience varies. Take the time to get the base tight: it should move less than an inch at the belt path.

Yes, and that is its main strength. Reviewers praise the UPPAbaby Alta V2 for positive travel-system integration, meaning it clicks straight onto UPPAbaby strollers without an adapter. That convenience is the reason to choose it over better-ranked seats.
