The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 headphones are a gateway drug to more premium audio and, for that, we love them. At Version 3 of the product, they are well-refined, pretty and very comfortable. Sonically, they are nicely improved over the earlier version, which makes them a very good value. Anybody in your life would be happy to get a pair of Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3s ($479 buy at Crutchfield) as a gift, as I have tested this concept and it goes over well. Really well.

Both headphones have attractive designs, but the PX7 S3 feels like the more luxurious model. Bowers & Wilkins uses a compact frame with flattened ear cups, refined fabric accents, and a streamlined profile. Its lightweight construction and deeper ear cushions also make it more comfortable than some previous PX7 models. The design feels sophisticated without becoming excessively flashy.

Anyway, regardless, I like them enough to say that the PX7S3 is shaping up to be one of the best headphones of 2025

The best bit of the PX7 S3 is the sound signature. While it's a warm sound (that many will appreciate), it doesn't skimp out on all the detail and mid-strength that make your music sound amazing. Every genre sounds good, whether it's a massive orchestral piece or a crushing death metal track. They're neutral in presentation without becoming too analytical, and it works very well.

In all honesty, that doesn't change the fact that I still consider the PX7S3 to be the better choice for me personally. I prefer the vegan leather build, and as the significantly cheaper model, I do think they offer better value for money, but that's a very personal choice

From the outset, the B&W Px7 S3 impresses. B&W has slimmed down the profile slightly and refined the finishes to make the headphones feel more premium. Overall, for sound quality, I now think that the PX7S3 is the one to beat in the sub $600 mid-range of these wireless overear noise cancelling headphones. I still find it to be below the high-end range like the Batiste and the H95, but the gap is narrowing. So overall for sound quality, I give the PX7 a 9.2 out of 10 after EQ. So moving on to comfort, the PX7 weighed in at 298.3 g on my scale, which is about average

I've got to say the noise cancellation when you listen to music too is topnotch for this price of headphone. It's one of the best I've heard in this sort of price range and it is an improvement on the last model. I was expecting the same from the brand's latest effort, the Px7 S3 over-ear headphones.

If you want the best of both worlds, I highly recommend the PX7 S3 because you're getting 90% of the noise cancellation that you get from Bose and you're getting very clear and crisp sound image. It's not as good as the PX8, but you're also paying less than half for them if you get them on Amazon, where they're frequently on sale. So, this is, in my opinion, the better headphone despite lacking maybe some of the more advanced audio features that you can find on the Bose, whether that's the, in my opinion, very good actually immersive audio and head tracking

I was connected within seconds, and the sound quality crystal clear with a surprising depth. Whether it was listening to high-res music or watching movies, the PX7S3 excelled in both areas. I've had them for 2 months and I LOVE them.

At the end, the Bowowers and Wilkins PX7S3 are excellent overear headphones. They offer a clear, detailed, balanced sound with a wide sound stage. The noise cancelling is comparable to Bose's in terms of blocking out external noise. And they're lightweight, comfortable, and offer a long battery life

As for the location of the buttons, in the S3 it is much more convenient than in the S2, because in the S2 I had difficulty using them. So from an ergonomics perspective, the S3 is definitely better.

And for me, in terms of sound quality, the Bows and Wilkins PX7S3 win hands down because it's got that extra level of that richness that I like. And I can listen to music on these for hours on end. Um, for me, um, these are just fantastic sounding. They're the best headphones this year and the Bows and Wickers have really done a good job on these headphones

At the same time I got my gen 2 pair yesterday (which was a replacement from a gen1 thanks to Bose stepping up after my rough experience with the first set and super messy exchange last month) That’s why I’m pretty disappointed: ANC feels noticeably weaker than Gen 1 which is not in line with Aarons sound comparison.

We got to keep in mind the standout features of the S3 is a build quality, that comfortable fit, slim design, the best transparency mode, and nice detailed sound. They've got a lot going for them. Although the noise cancelling is not great and the customization also needs a bit of work. They're also the priciest

Mixed emotions here, tried these PX7 and are fantastic, but also tried the Cambridge P100SE and focusing only in sound quality, the CA P100SE really sound better, the AB amp really make them great, the 100h user replaceable battery is also a nice feature

I'm selling my PX7s because I value comfort and equally ANC performance over the best possible sound quality. At the end of the day you can't go wrong with either - they are both excellent sounding headphones.
