So, if you're here just for a short answer, the Pro 7 is better than the Pro 6C. The question is, is it noticeably better in your specific situation? That's kind of where the answer lies. We have a 2.5 GB port and we have a gigabit port right here.

So, I'm not surprised that a lot of people have dead spots and if that's you, this is what you need. It's the Eero Pro 7. Now, this is a Wi-Fi 7 system. So, it's the latest Wi-Fi standard and it's a mesh Wi-Fi system.

So, it was really easy to set up. So, this one because it's not the gateway connector, it doesn't have the Ethernet cable going to the modem. It just has the electric. It just has the electric connection going to the wall and it connects wirelessly to the other two devices on the network. And it was really super easy to set up. So all we had to do was here is the app.

I probably will not switch for 5 years. So, I'm going to tell you what I love about this thing, what I don't really like, break it all down for you so you know what to buy, and if you really want this. So, let's start with the key specs. This thing supports up to 5 gigabytes of speed. That is insane. I only have 1 GB speed coming into my house, and that's way more than what I need.

Only two ports in total is a bit of a bummer if you're hardwire everything type of person, but it worked fine with all four of my wired devices once I ran to a switch. The build quality is what you expect, glossy white plastic on the front, matte white on the back, vent holes up top since it's fanless. Nothing groundbreaking here, but nothing cheap feeling either.

One thing I did notice, however, is that in environments with lots of heavy interference, like in apartments with multiple competing networks, the router had occasional slowdowns. But that's something you might expect from any mesh network system when under heavy load. Now, let's talk about the strengths and weaknesses. On the plus side, the Eero Pro 7 excels in its speed and range.

That said, if you roam with Wi-Fi 7 devices, Gizmoto noticed occasionally the device stuck to the main router, slowing performance a bit until you moved closer to a node. features and tech. Wi-Fi 7 with 320 MHz 6 GHz and 240 MHz 5 GHz channels. That's basically doubling the data pipe compared to older routers. It means faster downloads and lower latency.

I'm averaging barely 200MB down when I should be getting 1GB.

In the end, this is the best unit without a crazy price tag. It's still not cheap, but one of the reasons that I think this is a great option is what I've learned by using it in a couple of scenarios. The first scenario I used it in was a network with Eero Max 7 and an Eero Outdoor 7. In that case, it was a cheaper option to extend the network and not spend the extra money on another Max.

So, what are the downsides? Well, the price is definitely premium. It's not cheap. And if your internet plan is under, say, 500 megabits per second, you might not see a huge jump in performance over a Wi-Fi 6 system. But again, it's about future proofing. This router is built for what's coming next.
