If you're upgrading from Wi-Fi 6e, 6 or even 5, I really recommend you go whole hog and give the eero Max 7 a try - especially if you're coming from an older eero system, because you can probably use your existing units to strengthen your mesh network even further.

I recommend it for anybody that wants a really fast, super reliable router. Now, I was having some issues with two three devices actually. My wife's uh Galaxy Z Fold 7 was having weird issues with the the Wi-Fi where it would like uh work sometimes. Most of the time it would work. But, there were sometimes where she'd be kind of in the middle of the house and it just wouldn't work.

For the eero 7 router, you'll need to dedicate one of the auto-sensing Ethernet ports to your NBN connection box. Now, this is a dualband system, so it's not as fast. It's basically the slowest of the bunch, but it has two 2.5 GB ports and they're auto sensing. And I love the fact that they actually put two 2.5 GB ports.

This is incredibly misleading. The signal penetration and range of the Eero Max 7 and Eero Outdoor 7 are dogshit compared to the UniFi U7 Pro and XG lineup. Compare them one after the other in the same topology / env. The U7 Pro Wall I run consistently provides better signal range and wall penetration than the Eero Max 7 it replaced, albeit only 1200 Mbps on 6E vs 1400 on the Max.

That said, there were a couple of hiccups when connecting a larger number of devices simultaneously. While it managed to handle it, it did take a bit longer to stabilize the connections with some IoT gadgets. Let's break down the pros and cons. On the plus side, the speed is remarkable, and Wi-Fi 7 is a gamecher for high throughput activities like gaming, VR, and 4K streaming.

The thing about selecting an outdoor mesh Wi-Fi router to join your network is that you really need to pick something compatible, so folks with an Eero system should look at the Eero 7 Outdoor , and anyone with an Asus system should consider the ZenWiFi BD5 Outdoor . I picked the Deco BE25 here as it strikes a nice balance between price and performance, and it’s a Wi-Fi 7 router.
