Great review! I've already placed an order for this bag prior to watching your video, but now I'm even more excited for its delivery. Typically reviewers utilize elaborate lighting setups and showcase the bag from a distance, unlike this close-up and with natural lighting. I like natural lighting more because I can see how it actually looks like.

While I still love my Tech Pack, the folks over at Aer have just launched their new Travel Pack 2, a travel-focused backpack that I'd argue is just as good for storing all of your gear while also being the perfect travel companion for pretty much any trip.

The Aer Travel Pack 3 is not just a backpack; it’s a refined travel tool. If you’re looking for versatility, durability, and smart design , either size will serve you well. The Small works brilliantly for light packers or EDC travelers. The Regular gives you that extra room when you’re hauling a bit more.

From a materials perspective, this bag screams quality. The exterior is constructed from 1680D Cordura ballistic nylon. Is it overkill? Probably, but it's ridiculously durable, won't rip or tear easily, and it resists scratches and abrasion, so it stays looking fresh. Hardware across the board also premium. The bag has YKK zippers that glide like butter, Duraflex buckles and clips.

We're digging the improvements to the Day Sling 4 and 4 Max , as well. Like with the travel packs, we're really digging the changes to the organization and the improved materials on the inside.

So very happy with that material. Generally Air is known for their materials and their hardware as well. So this is our YKK zippers. These are locking zippers, so I can show you that a little bit easier there. Going to have your own lock, but you can throw a lock in between those two zippers if you want to lock them up. Very easy to open and close them.

honigbaer I could not agree more with this list, and actually own the Aer Travel Pack 3 Small and Regular, as well as the City Pack Pro 2. Amazing bags, so totally deserved and my go-tos.

So, you save weight with this one Um, like with the material overall and you do have really good weather resistance. On top of that, you have YKK aqua guard style zippers across the board here. So, all of your pockets, your main compartment, front compartments, all that stuff is getting really good weather protection. We also have these hypalon loops.

But, AER's are consistently more durable kind of across the board. With Matador, I'll bring this up a little bit closer. You can see it has a kind of a ballistic-like sort of pattern on there, which we do feel like this is a durable material. It's just that with Air, it's going to hold its structure a lot better, which I think personally makes a more effective packing experience, too.

I packed this thing up. This is everything that I brought on my trip minus like a couple of items and even those extra items I was able to like really push this thing shut and zip it all around without feeling it like it was stressing the zipper too much. So, no issues with that. Um you can really make the most of that 35 L of space.

If you want something that's a little bit more kind of subdued, outdoorsy, or utilitarian, I would say that the CTB 26 kind of falls more into that category, whereas with Aer, you have a more kind of modern, sleek, and techy style. So, both can work well, just really depends where you're going to be taking the bag. And then, as far as the materials, both of these are very solidly built.

For everyday carry, could you use the Aer Travel Pack 28 L? For a taller guy, 6 ft and above, my answer is hell yes. This is an excellent everyday carry for a bigger guy. Now, the 35, I would say is a strictly travel pack, right? 28 can do both travel and everyday carry for a larger guy. 35, I'm telling you, this is a This pack right here is absolutely huge.

I think they did a really good job with this update. The major highlights are cutting out some weight, slimming down the profile, changing up the front admin panel. I have the Travel Pack 4 here in the Cordura fabric in the larger 35 L size. I also have version 3 X-Pac fabric in the 28 L size and the City Pack Pro to show you some side-by-side comparisons.

So, basically 35, exactly what it's listed at. So, the new Air Travel Pack 4 Cordura fabric, listed at 35 L capacity, real capacity 35 L, basically right on spec. About 28 L in the main compartment and seven or so liters in these two front pockets. So, I hope you like this quick capacity demonstration.

Uh the first thing I will have to say is this bag stands up on its own. Now, um they have kind of like an internal frame structure where it's a little bit more rigid um on this front part as well as kind of like the back part. Um so whether you have it full or empty, it will stand up on its own. The second thing that I really do love about this bag is the overall comfort.

Um >> so, good upgrade on that one. Number three, good upgrade, the older one didn't have grab tabs for the main compartment. So, for example, if I had it unzipped and I wanted to zip the the up, you kind of have to kind of grab the bag by the fabric and then just kind of close it up. So, kind of annoying. But, for this new one, they have grab tabs.

But what that means is this 28 L in particular is now even more usable as a large EDC pack or crossover pack which I really really dig. A lot of people used to use the previous generation or the previous version as kind of like a large you know EDC pack but it did have some travel kind of features that made it not quite that perfect for that here.

The best thing about this backpack is definitely it cador material. This backpack is definitely a great sleek minimalist carry-on backpack. It's well organized. It's efficient with its design. It's not overwhelming. There is a lot of pockets when you do come to the front organizer, but an organizer that it is because then the rest of the bag is fairly simple to the point.

I would definitely say this is best for frequent travelers, the ones who want the premium carry-on backpack. You know that build that you just look at and you go, "You are going to last a long time." Then this is your guy. This stores around 259 lb. You got 54.5 by 34 by 23 in cm and it is a 35 L with a storm weight of 1.78 kg.

All their material choices are great, but I think the ultra, the eco pack, or the nylon, you can't go wrong with depending on what your use case is. So, I went with the 28 L size. It's got 28 L in capacity. It feels like it might be a little bit on the small side for 28 L, but that's very subjective.

My favorite changes with the Travel Pack 4 are the look and materials, the water bottle holders, and lastly they were able to reduce the weight by about a quarter of a pound. Starting off with the look and materials, I feel like this was a very natural evolution for the travel line. Last spring they came out with the new generation of their city line, the City Pack Pro 2, the City Pack 2.

The downside to all these pockets is that you can get lost in all the zippers and compartments, and it can be hard to remember exactly where you put that USB hub. We were also disappointed that Aer's hip belt has to be purchased separately, though we loved the cushion of the Travel Pack 3 across the shoulder straps and back panel, and found it comfortable to carry for moderate distances.

If you don't know, Aer is one of the premier carry brands on the planet. They're known for their techy urban aesthetic and for making bags that are very over-constructed in the best way possible, that use premium materials, have amazing use of volume, but also are a little bit on the bulky and heavy side. And as the name suggests, these are V4 bags.

At the end of the day a horizontal passthrough like the EG keeps the centre of gravity lower and it won't be as tippy vs a vertical passthrough when using roller luggage .As much as I loved the AER they just don't hold the space as advertised. For example my Gr1 21L can hold much more than a AER 24L City Pack Pro and much more than the EG CTB 20L.

Hi everybody, Fox Nomad here and today I want to help you travel smarter with my review of the Air Travel Pack 3. Now, depending on how you're kind of packing it, it can feel like it does lean forward. If you kind of get the base a little bit better, you might have a little bit of a wiggle room, but it does kind of not like as you can see, it's like floating forward and obviously like the weight distribution when it is packed out is a lot for a backpack.
