The Sony FDR-AX43 is the obvious upgrade if 4K matters and you want a Handycam your family will love forever. Beginners should grab the Sony HDR-CX405 , content creators should stretch for the Canon Vixia HF G50 , and budget-first families can absolutely thrive with the Panasonic HC-V180 or Ordro AC5 .
