I have to say, these AD80 dumbbells impressed me. With so many companies charging a premium and then delivering subpar quality, I’m happy to report Snode has delivered a stellar product. The packaging, top notch. The assembly, took 5 minutes, and the quality is evident. No rattles, solid build, great knurling on the handles, they did a great job. This is my first “premium” home gym product and I am happy it was worth the price.

If the SNODE AD80 had been available when I bought my NÜOBELLs, I would have chosen it instead. It offers similar quick-dial adjustment and an 80-pound maximum at roughly the same price tier, but its cast-iron plates are rated for drops up to 32 inches.

A few systems are built for it: cast-iron sets like the Snode AD80 are rated drop-proof to around 32 inches, and the MX Evo and Ironmaster lines explicitly cover or tolerate drops. Always check the warranty terms.

But even with these much more forceful drops, the Snodes held up very well. The only damage was a little bit of powder coating flaking off from the impact.
