In practical terms, this scooter makes the most sense for riders who want control over their trip. You leave when you want. You choose the quiet side streets, cycle lanes, or mixed suburban routes that suit your city. In dense US downtowns, that can mean skipping parking drama. In Europe, it often means bypassing overcrowded public transport for shorter urban hops.

The Segway Ninebot MAX G3 makes every trip effortless, whether I'm weaving through the city or heading out for an adventure. It's smooth, stable, and built for comfort. Curved handlebars give me a solid grip, while bright headlights, blinkers, and synced underglow keep me visible and safe. With the 2,000-watt motor, it reaches 28 miles per hour and powers up 30% inclines.

The Segway Ninebot Max G3 is a substantial step up from the typical commuter scooter, combining a comfortable ride with enough performance for longer trips and faster city riding. Its 2,000-watt peak motor can propel it to 28 mph, while the 597-Wh battery provides up to a claimed 50 miles of range under ideal conditions.

The Segway Ninebot MAX G3 is one of the best Electric Scooter 25 mph models Right now, nobody else in its category checks reliability like the MAX G3 does between 2025 and 2026. When tested uphill on a 10 percent slope, it kept going at 20 miles per hour – something others near its size simply haven’t pulled off.

I seen this earlier at CES this year, but now that I have it in hand, I can immediately tell you that it's a major upgrade. They double the power from 1,00 watt to 2,000 watts, and it's 850 watt nominal. The speed is up to 28 miles per hour on the Max G3 versus 22 miles on the G2. They added dual disc brakes. The tires have been bumped up from 10 inch to 11 in.

Although Segway has yet to publish official range figures for the MAX G3 PLUS, riders can expect commuter-class performance based on its 3.5-hour charge time and 2200 W powertrain. In practice, plan for 25–35 km of mixed-terrain riding on a full charge, depending on rider weight, incline, and speed.

The frame is beefy, the components feel premium, and overall, it gives the vibe of something built to last. It rides on 11-in tubeless self-sealing tires, so if you happen to roll over a nail or hit something sharp, the tires can automatically seal small punctures on their own, which is pretty cool. Now, suspension. The Max G3 comes with dual adjustable hydraulic suspension, both front and rear.

So, looking at the scooter decks, I prefer the G2 and the G3 because on the G30, this rear fender is taking up some of that basically deck space where it's more open here. And in fact, the G3 is the best cuz this part for the folding mechanism is very well integrated into the deck versus the G2 is here, just like the G30.

As far as e-kickscooters go, the Max G3 is a great ride. It’s well-suited to commuters thanks to its long range and fold-up design, and it packs plenty of safety and anti-theft features. It’s fun, peppy, and practical, and surprisingly easy to use.

So, I think the Max G3 is one of their flagship products. Similar to the Cyber, I think the design is really high-tech, very futuristic. You got some black with red accents and a little bit of gray or space gray. I think compared to other electric scooters in its class, the Segue Max G3 just looks a little bit more refined. So, let's just walk through all the features.

Now, as a first-time e-scooter owner, let me tell you, I think this thing is a real game-changer. And the timing of this is quite apt, really, because here in South Australia, up until only July this year, 2025, it was actually illegal to ride e-scooters on public roads. That's right.

Um I think it's going to be pretty cool. So, first off, with one of our new features is we're probably going to see a speed increase. Um we've heard from my viewers and people at Segway is probably going to look at a 4 to 5 mph speed increase. So, probably from that old 28, we're going to go around to that 32 to 33 range. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm almost positive.

With a 50 mile maximum range on a single charge, it's one of the longest lasting scooters you can buy right now in its category. Of course, range depends on rider weight, speed, and terrain, but even under real world conditions. Most riders report getting around 40 to 45 mi, which is still excellent. The fast charging feature is another plus.

If you're looking at a 2-mi trip to the office, a 10-mi campus loop, or a 30-mi weekend ride along a waterfront trail, the extended battery is the first thing that catches my eye. Segway lists a 50-mi maximum range, which, in practice, means you'll comfortably clear a 20-mi round-trip commute with a little cushion left over for detours.

The Segway Max G3 is for the rider who values build quality and comfort above all else. If you have a 10-mile commute and want to arrive fresh, without rattling your teeth out, this is the gold standard. Yet here we run into one of the small things that I don't love about the scooter. The acceleration. This has the power, the build, the weight, the suspension, and the tech to put the power in the hands of the user to decide how quickly they want to accelerate. But Segue just doesn't do that.

The Max G3 is the best-riding commuter scooter I’ve tested aside from hyperscooters. The dual-hydraulic adjustable suspension, paired with 11-inch self-healing tubeless tires, creates a ride that’s unmatchably plush and composed. It soaks up rough roads that shake cheaper setups to the core, and the steering feels planted and precise even at its 28 mph top speed.

I like that it's got massive shocks in the front. And I hear it's got this Segride technology where this comes out in front of the center of the wheel to help prevent wobbling, especially when you're going faster. And I like that the handlebars curve in slightly. I think that's going to be nice and comfortable once I get out there. I got pretty big feet. The deck looks rather large.

While the speed isn’t quite up to snuff with that of the top-tier scooters and the suspension is certainly bumpier, I’d be hard-pressed to find a scooter that offers more value to the daily commuter than the Gotrax G3 Max. For those looking for a smoother ride and who don’t mind spending more, check out the Segway E3 Pro .

This one is so heavy. There's no folding latch. It's all awkward. The handlebars want to wobble every time you do it. This one is is really easy to get into a car. I had almost no trouble today, but I had a lot of trouble with this big boy. Now, the size gives this one a lot of benefits to it. I think you can have a larger rider on here.
