Scuf Valor Pro

P PC Gamer Article

The wireless version of the Scuf Valor Pro is finally here, offering everything we loved about the wired version, just minus the wire and all of its tangle potential. That means I'm gonna award this a high score, and we can all go home early, right? Unfortunately, even without a wire, the Scuf Valor Pro controller still gets in its own way.

The new SCUF Valor Pro Wireless gaming controller, I think they've just fixed stick drift. This is my hands-on first impressions, unboxing and review for Xbox and PC. It’s got instant triggers, 4 mappable rear paddles, TMR thumbsticks and more!

Looking at the features for the Valor Pro Wireless, that list of cons seems to have been obliterated. The new flagship Xbox controller will come with a wireless USB dongle, Bluetooth connectivity, and obvious wired support for Xbox and PC. When connected to a PC, it'll harness the same 1,000Hz polling rate of the Valor Pro.

This controller packs tons of pro features with special joysticks that CAN'T get Stick-Drift. I check out the features and also TRY the controller to see just how good it is and determine if it's worth it!

P PCGamesN Edward Chester · reviewer

With its top-tier build quality and masses of extra features, the Scuf Valor Pro is everything you'd want from a premium Xbox/PC controller, just without a wireless connection. For PC use, the wire isn't a burden but it's definitely less convenient for Xbox use from the sofa, though this is reflected in its price.

It is good. It is a fantastic compact mobile snap and clip style mobile controller. I guess I'm just disappointed that that's what it is and not like a controller I can use on PlayStation or Xbox.

The back paddles are expertly placed so they reach the middle and ring fingers without feeling crowded. Those back buttons offer gamers a key edge in competitive shooters because players never have to take their thumbs off the sticks to reload or jump.

There’s a lot to appreciate about the Valor Pro. It’s stylish, comfortable, and has a strong sense of quality. The customizable faceplates, adjustable triggers, and app-based input tweaks make it appealing to players who like to personalize their setup. It’s also one of the better-looking controllers on the market, and the hardware feels durable enough to last.

Hall effect technology helps eliminate stick drift and increases the lifespan of your controller by using magnetic sensors instead of traditional potentiometers.

This is a big step forward for Scuf, and I'm having a harder time complaining about them than I used to, as I feel their move to making their own original gamepads has resulted in much higher quality products.though unlike the original Valor Pro, this one does come with the high price tag that has always been a trademark of Scuf controllers.

This is pretty cool. And yeah, we got the little trigger stopping and all. You guys hear that? I'm back here. You guys can see it says um Xbox, PC, and all the normal triggers, but I'm I'm thinking about keeping like this mouse trick. Oh, dude, that is so amazing. So, what was in the box itself is the USB dongle itself for the controller. Um, and a warranty paper, safety information, warranty.

I have never used a controller with paddles, so this is going to be something new to me. I'll probably map this one to jump or uh I don't know. There. There it is. The paddles. You can switch it to Xbox or PC on the back with a little switch in the middle.

It is not without drawbacks, though. The weight may be too much for some players, the price positions it solidly in the premium tier, and a few design choices make specific competing controllers worth considering. Yet even with those caveats, it is clear that the Valor Pro Wireless delivers a level of performance and polish that places it well above standard controllers.

Uh I don't know if they updated the sticks, but apparently initial review from firsterson shooter fans is that the Hall effect sticks that are in this Valor Pro are not it. They updated this controller to be able to go all the way up to 1,00 hertz polling rate, but that's on PC, not on Xbox. So, we're going to see it here. And let's see what it comes with. It comes with safety and warranty.

G GamingShogun Jerry Paxton · reviewer

After spending significant time with it in the trenches of online multiplayer, I can say the Valor Pro is a weapon of immense potential, but one with a very specific, and at times, deeply flawed design.

I find I like the back pedals, but I find when my finger's in between it, I'm pressing Y when I don't want to be pressing Y. I'll be mid gun fight and all of a sudden I got my pistol out and then I die and it's not very convenient. He wasn't doing that at first when I started playing with it and then I think I was just gripping too hard. I was getting too intense with it.
