I am personally a fan of this reactive lighting feature for several reasons – it saves battery because it only gives as much brightness as is needed, it is easier and more comfortable for my eyes, and I don’t need a free hand to adjust my light levels. There are three levels of intensity in the reactive lighting mode: low, medium and high.Read L
Uh, but I've never had to recharge it on a hunt. I've been out on uh hunts that last a couple of weeks. I'm using it every day. Uh, it's very efficient, but the RL stands for reactive lighting on it. Um, which is part of what makes it more of an efficient headlamp.Watch P
It’s a bright, easy-to-use headlamp that works well for climbing, running, backpacking, biking, or anytime you need lighting power on tap. At 1200 lumens from a sub-100g package, it’s aimed squarely at trail runners, alpinists, and anyone who wants serious output without carrying serious weight.Read L
As mentioned in the video, the headlamp performs better than is portrayed by the Go Pro.Watch M
I preferred the simpler package of the Swift. I can't recommend the Reactive Lighting feature enough for climbers though. Not having to constantly toggle between modes when looking close vs looking long is fantastic.Read C
With 900 lumen brightness at only 100g, SWIFT RL is the most powerful of the Petzl compact headlamps. With REACTIVE LIGHTING technology, a sensor analyzes the ambient light and automatically adjusts the brightness to user requirements.Watch D

In short, I really like the PETZYL’s reactive dimming. I think they did a great job. For me it’s worth the extra dough not to be blinded when I look at something up close. I also appreciate the extra illumination the PETZYL offers. Additionally the reflectors and lenses on the Swift RL make for a very smooth transition between flood and spot.Watch F Facebook Article
The new Petzl SWIFT RL is one of the most powerful yet light headtorches on the market, with 1200 lumens max power and a weight of just 92g.Read A
The Paetzel Swift RL is our test winner for several reasons. Firstly, the lamp costs 100 euros, and for that price, you really get a great lamp. Secondly, it's small, compact, and lightweight. The battery is built into the lamp head, which isn't really bothersome because it's not particularly heavy.Watch T
The Petzl Swift RL is the headlamp I’d choose when I want something compact, bright, and capable enough for proper night movement on trail.Read F
Great first bike ride with the Petzl Swift RL on the handlebar and the Pro version on the helmetWatch M

With its 900-lumen brightness and total weight of only 100 g, SWIFT® RL is the most powerful of the Petzl compact headlamps. With its REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology, a sensor analyzes the ambient light and automatically adjusts brightness to user requirements. The headband is reflective for night visibility. Here are some of my thoughts on the headlamp and how it works for running in the dark!Watch T

Looks quite interesting, especially Swift RL Classic (love the headband!), but uses a new battery type again! I already have Swift with extra batteries and Nao RL but am still debating whether any of them would be good for UTMB or whether I need to bring both and swap in the middle of the race. I'll need to go through 2 nights and might need up to 20-21 hours of runtime.Read J
I do feel Swift RL is overpriced in comparison with the Reactik+ which understandably required bluetooth and smartphone Apps development, so to strip off most of the features but charge same or more price seems steep to me!Watch R
The Petzl Swift RL is boss as heck for its auto-adjusting brightness, which keeps the road lit but also prevents sudden blinding. On twisting trails, the headlamp switches modes automatically, and the lightweight one-handed fit is a major plus for on-the-fly adjustments.Read G

I'm currently testing my Swift RL 1200 across pre-dawn hikes and night trail runs, and a full review will land on Trail & Kale shortly. Initial impressions are exactly what you'd expect from Petzl: precise, well-engineered, and built for serious mountain use.Read T

The torch carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, but during sustained heavy rain the exposed USB-C charging area appeared to let water in, causing the light to become unreliable before shutting down completely.Watch J
Jimzon asked a question on my Swift RL video where I mentioned the Swift RL doesn't fit in the Noctilight case/lantern when Petzl website says it does.Watch
