Well built enough that CR tested it without flagging construction, but the staged conversion path costs more over time than a conventional convertible. Buy the Hudson instead.

Flagged as a product to avoid

9 of 12 research runs entered this as a product to avoid rather than a pick.

Consumer Reports lab-tested it alongside 40 cribs, but owner sentiment in r/Buyingforbaby's 'Negatives of Nestig' thread lays out the ownership math: the mini-crib-to-full-crib-to-toddler-bed path ends up costing more than a conventional convertible, with no bassinet mode and a longer wait before a full-size crib.

  2. Consumer Reports flags it as the TikTok favorite in its 40-crib pool: its reputation is social-media-driven rather than performance-driven, and it costs a multiple of the Heartland while doing the identical job. Buy the Heartland for value or the Cloud for the Nestig look with lab-test pedigree.

  3. Its fame is social-media-driven - Consumer Reports calls it "the TikTok favorite" - and when Forbes Vetted, Good Housekeeping and other guide-makers hand out top slots, they consistently go to Babyletto and Delta instead. You are paying for the trend; the Nestig Cloud has the stronger lab case.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  4. Staged conversions mean each step - bassinet, full-size crib, toddler bed - is a separate purchase, and owners report the total cost ends up higher than a straightforward convertible. Consumer Reports identifies it as 'the TikTok favorite,' with marketing doing the work engineering should.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  5. You are paying a premium for social-media design cachet and a mini-crib-to-full-size gimmick rather than better sleep or safety. A Heartland or Gelato does the actual job better per dollar.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  6. Consumer Reports' own framing labels it the TikTok-famous model of a brand they do rate, and parent threads questioning the brand center on the price premium relative to what you get. The Cloud is the model the field actually tested into its best-of coverage.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  7. Consumer Reports calls it the TikTok favorite of its test lineup, riding social virality rather than a verdict that beats its own sibling. Nothing in the evidence sets it above the Nestig Cloud, which has the stronger tester endorsements.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  8. A good crib carrying a social-media premium: you pay TikTok-hype money for the same sleep the cheaper Nestig Cloud provides, so the Cloud is the correct buy.

    Flagged 17 September 2026
  9. Well built but overpriced: its headline trick of starting life as a bassinet is a Bassinets-category feature, and its nonstandard sizing locks you into special bedding. A Heartland at a fraction of the cost sleeps a baby every bit as safely.

Summary: I chose Nestig’s 3-in-1 Wave Crib for my second daughter’s nursery because I wanted a clean, safe crib that would grow with my daughter. In eight months, we’ve already moved from the mini crib, which we used when she was a newborn, to the full crib. Eventually, she’ll move into the toddler bed configuration ( wipes tears). I adore the design inspired by the ocean and its shifting tides, which perfectly symbolizes the journey of parenting.
