Contour ellipse is an amazing thing that Mizuno have made. They've got it in their JPX 925 hot metal and the forge as well. If you've seen my videos on the Forge especially and also the Hot Metals as well, but the contour ellipse just does amazing job at keeping ball speed up across the face.Watch T

The feel of all three of the clubs is very responsive and pleasing. I was swinging all three of the clubs on average at 84 miles an hour, including the HL. With a little bit softer loft on the face. I was getting a little bit less ball speed. I was averaging 113.5, but I was getting a much higher trajectory at over 20 degrees.Watch G
For most beginners, the sweet spot is Mid‑Range new or Used Premium.Read T
At impact, all of the clubs felt very responsive. This one felt a little bit softer, which also I enjoyed. I was swinging this seven iron at my average 84 mile an hour clubhead speed and I was getting identical results when it comes to ball flight and distance with the standard Hot Metal. I was getting a ball speed of 115 miles an hour. I was launching this one just over 17 degrees with 4600 RPMs.Watch A

Neither is categorically better — they win in different areas. The P790 has more raw ball speed, a 24% larger sweet spot (in the 2025 model), and slightly more forgiveness on off-center hits. The JPX 925 Forged has better feel, better workability for shot-shaping, and superior turf interaction thanks to its triple-cut sole.Read L

The new Mizuno JPX 925 irons might just be the best irons I’ve tested in 2025 — insane feel, crazy forgiveness, and that signature Mizuno sound when you flush one. But here’s the catch… not every model in the JPX 925 lineup will suit your game.Watch M

However, in practice, the JPX925 hot metal feels like a step backwards. Hot metal irons have always had a somewhat complex design, but I found the JPX 923 to be much sleeker. Feel. These irons deliver a powerful and crisp feel from the face. I think this greatly increases your confidence when striking the ball.Watch G
