Midea 50-Pint Cube for $300 : While we had great results with the 20-pint Midea cube, our top pick dehumidifier, the most recent iteration of the 50-pint version seems to have a quite frequent sensor problem. After brief testing, mine began to show readings considerably below the actual humidity, as measured by multiple hygrometers—which means the device won't kick on when needed. Based on online reports, I'm not alone. Sensor issues seem to be a very common source of complaint for the 50-pint Midea.

If you do not have a place to route a drain hose, the Midea Cube 20 Pint at around $199 ships with the hose included and a 3.2-gallon tank that needs emptying four to six times less often than typical units. If your basement runs below 50°F in shoulder seasons, the Frigidaire 22 Pint Energy Star at around $169 is rated down to 41°F — the only pick on this list that keeps working when the others ice up.

This Media Cube unit excels in removing moisture efficiently. Rated to remove up to 20 pints of moisture per day under normal conditions, making it ideal for basements, living rooms, laundry rooms, or any medium-sized room where excess moisture can cause musty odors, mold, and a damp feeling. Its Energy Star certification means this appliance doesn't just work well. It works without making your electricity bill swell . The compact and modular design with a cube-like shape makes it easier to move and place than many traditional vertical dehumidifiers.
