One of the most practical strengths of the RG550 is its pickup layout. A single coil in the bridge position paired with two humbuckers in the middle and neck. That combo is a bit of a Swiss Army knife for tonal variety. In my own setup, the single coil gave me that classic, bright, slightly gritty tone that works great for funk rhythms and surf-style leads.
