The Husqvarna 455 Rancher sits between the homeowner-grade 450 and the professional 460 in Husqvarna’s lineup. With a 55cc X-Torque engine putting out 3.5 horsepower, it has noticeably more pulling power than the 450 for sustained cuts in dense hardwood. I tested one on a stack of frozen oak rounds in February and it never bogged down, even when plunge-cutting through 18-inch pieces.

The Husqvarna 455 Rancher is the best overall Husqvarna chainsaw for most homeowners. Its 56-cc X-Torq engine delivers 3.5 horsepower, the 20-inch bar handles trees up to 18 inches in diameter, and Smart Start makes cold starts effortless. After testing ten models, the 455 Rancher delivered the best combination of power, reliability, and value.
