Buy Vader 5 if you want upgraded version of the Vader 4 with better button and joystick latency. And buy the Apex 5 if you want the best controller from Fly DG in this generation. Here is the Vader 4 Pro beside the Vader 5 Pro. They are very similar in design and look. There are some features that are completely different on them that we'll look at them right now. The first one I will notice is the D-pad on the Vader 4 Pro. They're just a little bit different as in the way they look. So here's the Vader 5 as you can see here. What I like about the Vader 5 Pro is that we're going back to an Xbox Elite style layout here. This is in contrast to the Vader 4 Pro, which had more of a left to right back button layout. And I do think this is a good change. I found with the Vader 4 Pro layout, you can never have your fingers on both back buttons at the same time.Watch O

I actually really like the way this feels on the Vader 5S and I would prefer if that was how it felt on the Vader 5 Pro as well. Personally, this actually gives me more confidence that the adjustable tension rings will not loosen over time as they did with the Fly Dig Vader 4 Pro.Watch O
The menu buttons in the front are straightforward clicky switches and even the Fly Digi logo acts as a button here. The analog sticks, which yes, are still hall effect as smooth as ever. Speaking of smooth, the newly refined D-pad feels good to click and maneuver. On top, the bumpers feel great with minimal travel time. The triggers have no friction when the trigger stops aren't engaged.Watch B
I Didn't Expect the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro to Be THIS GoodWatch A
It has Hall effect sticks, which is great, so hopefully you won't get any drift in the future. It has analog sticks, and of course it also has the the micro analog switch enablers, so you can get that clicky sound, reduce the distance it needs to travel to get that full click. They use a technology called Speed Edge to kind of give you that the really quick action for these triggers.Watch C

All right, so the Fly Digi Vader 5 Pro, in short, is the best affordable pro controller you can ask for. Well, in my opinion at least.Watch K
I've had this controller since it was released, and ever since then, it's been the controller I've used the most. Let's start with the sticks. One of the best features of the Vader controllers is the adjustable stick tension rings, but there was one issue. After months of use, some people found that the tension rings would loosen over time.Watch T

In my opinion all the changes make the controller better besides Dinput removal. Unfortunately Flydigi hasn't developed TMR sticks for this generation however I find Flydigi's signature hall effect sticks good enough. I think Flydigi should skip TMR sticks entirely and start developing their own capacitive sticks modules which seem to be the future.Read thread V

But the paddles were only half of the story, because the bigger question here is whether the sticks now behave like a premium controller should. That part, I can test myself. So stick centering, if the updated Vader 5 Pro returns to center properly, consistently and cleanly, that is massive. And yes, stick centering sounds boring until it starts to ruin your aim.Watch T
Basically, there were two major issues with the Vader 5 Pro after it officially released. The first one, and the way worse one in my opinion, is that the mechanism inside the V1 that acts as a contact point between the back paddles and the switches was apparently made with some low-grade plastic that would weaken and break after too much stress and overuse.Watch E
The Vader 5 Pro doesn't because the Vader 5 isn't as big as the Vader 4 Pro. I misinput a lot of things and that's my review. Get get the Vader 5 Pro if your hands are not as big as the average as the average as the average human hand size. If it's smaller, like if you if small hands, I would definitely recommend the V 5 Pro. If you have big hands, get the video 4 Pro. Bye.Watch N
However, it’s not perfect… some users have reported issues with connectivity and software, which could affect your experience depending on how you use it.Watch R
The first model this controller had a couple of little issues. Essentially like this tension ring were coming loose for some people. It didn't have anything that kind of held it in place. It didn't have like a ratcheting mechanism. But that Vader 5 S, the Xbox version of this controller, and you'll know it cuz that one has a Xbox symbol here. That one had these mechanisms that are now on the V2.Watch

Neither my iPad nor my Samsung Galaxy S22 could pick up a Bluetooth signal from the Vader 5 Pro anymore. While it could easily be that I simply received a defective device, I wasn’t able to get my hands on a second device to compare.Read T
The end of that plastic seems to be what's breaking even though it's designed in such a way that it's supposed to bend. I'm not really sure why this piece is even necessary, but I'm no engineer, so I won't criticize one way or another. I think that the real issue lies with the paddles, though, and not necessarily the plastic, even though that's the thing that actually breaks.Watch
