The best-reviewed pad on the board outright, earning its pick on performance. It sits just under the Vader 5 Pro only because that pad packs more pro hardware for the money.

The Flydigi APEX 5 Elite Controller is driven by a 216MHz Beast-Powered Chipset, which acts as a faster “brain” for the device compared to the Flydigi APEX 4. This extra processing power in the APEX 5 allows for more complex motion-tracking algorithms and smoother force feedback calculations.Read H
The Apex 5 is luxury upgrade. If you already own Apex 4 or Vader 4 Pro, the differences are incremental rather than revisionary. However, it is currently the most feature complete controller on the market if you want maximum customization, ultra low latency, and the gimmicks.Watch G
The Apex 5 goes further with adaptive force feedback — resistance changes dynamically based on in-game context.Read D
Everything about this controller screams premium. It's really close to Elite 2 in terms of feel enhance. It has frosted face plate which almost doesn't collect the fingerprints at all. But the Wu Chang version has a glossy plastic and this is a fingerprint magnet. It has rubberized stick caps and metal anti-friction joysticks.Watch H
It feels like Apex 4, but for some reason, it feels even a little more premium. Here are the face buttons. This is the new D-pad, joysticks, bumpers, extra bumpers, and triggers. They feel so smooth. Here are two extra buttons on the bottom. Rubberized grips. And here's the new design of the back buttons. Oh, they feel good. Just like that. Very easy. So comfortable.Watch R
Let me know what you think in the comments, but I think this controller is just beautiful, especially from the back side. Let's put extra buttons. This just gives me Miles Morales vibes. So, first of all, D-pad is black now. ABXY buttons are exactly the same as on Vader 4, for example. Joysticks now are black instead of white. This is how it looks compared to usual Apex 5.Watch D
One of the best, if not the best, special edition of any controller coming in 2025. It's simply stunning. But let's see what's else in the carrying case. You also have a very good braided cable, but I wish they make it black and red or red and yellow in colors of the controller, but it's okay. Also, here we have two extra covers for the bumpers.Watch N
This is the most comfortable controller I have ever held. Back buttons and paddles sit exactly under resting fingers, and the extra top triggers land in a natural spot. I didn't have to hunt for anything. Muscle memory clicked almost instantly, which is rare on a first big session, and a huge reason why I rate this controller. Of course, none of that matters if the sticks don't deliver.Watch C
Some of the new features you get with the new Apex 5 versus the older Apex 4 are a brand new back button and paddle design on the back, two additional shoulder buttons, Fly Digi's own version of adaptive triggers versus just having vibration in the triggers of the Apex 4, and improved latency over wired and wireless. But before we get into all of that, let's see what you get in the box.Watch M
The FCFLEX joysticks are incredibly precise, offering a smooth, almost buttery glide that feels fantastic for intricate movements in any game. And the FCCAP triggers, they provide a satisfying, responsive feedback that really immerses you, whether you're revving an engine or taking a precise shot. It's a noticeable upgrade from standard controllers.Watch T
And it might just be the most advanced, most precise, and most collectible controller in the entire world. Let's find out if this is the ultimate enthusiast peripheral or an overpriced piece of merch. Let's start with the one thing no other controller can touch, the collector value. This is the Castor Limited Edition, and the package is what justifies that premium price tag.Watch R
>> Imagine a controller that doesn't just respond to your inputs, but actually adapts to your play style, almost like it's learning alongside you. That's the bold promise the FLYDIGI Apex 5 PC controller seems to be making. >> And honestly, it brings some genuinely innovative ideas to the table. What immediately stands out with this device are the FORCE Feel Apex joysticks, too.Watch W
Everything works the way it should. The app on the PC is really good. Very easy to change the button layout. biggest drawback, which I'm sure a lot of you know, no trigger stops.Watch F
It delivers consistent results every single time you use it. It's reliable, quiet, and honestly, just a joy to use every single day. It's a major upgrade to your productivity and lifestyle. I absolutely love the Flydigi Apex 5. It's a superb controller that suits any gamer who prefers a snappy feel and lots of functionality. It's truly brilliant in FPS games thanks to a great design that gets the basics right, but it has a premium feel and pleasing design elements that make it an all-round champ of the market right now.Read S
What isn't great quality is this packing experience. I feel like for a premium controller, uh I'd expect a little bit more thought to go in here, but maybe this helps keep the price lower than it should be. Not the end of the world. The little plastic baggies just don't really make me excited. What does excite me is the really neat futuristic aesthetic of the Apex 5.Watch G
Ooh, this one is nice and quiet. Kind of like it. So, in terms of the design, this is almost identical to this one, the Vader 5 Pro. Now, this one has a little bit different design and additionally way more programmable buttons. Now, in terms of the design, okay, this is also feeling a little bit less nice. So, let's go ahead and wrap camera. Ew. Maybe flip it on. There we go.Watch G
Although, I really wish Flight Digi would have focused their efforts on making the adjustable thumb stick tension easier to adjust. Kind of like the Vader 4. They could have used that exact adjustment method for gosh sakes. Pop off the D-pad, take off the face plate, use the tool that comes in there. Hopefully, you didn't lose it.Watch K
That said, for such an expensive controller, I would like to see more accessories included like an alternate D-pad or stick caps. Those are all sold separately. Visually, the AX5 looks very similar to the AEX 4. is sleek and futuristic, but the difference between the two generation are pretty minor. When it comes to comfort, the Fly DG has always done well, and the Apex 5 continued that trend.Watch D
I'm probably going to return it after I review this controller because I still think that the best collaboration on Apex 5 this time is still Eva version. That controller is just unbeatable in my opinion. But anyway, it doesn't mean that this controller is bad.Watch A
Unfortunately, the Apex 5 only supports Xinput on PC, and Dinput only works for adaptive trigger enabled games. As you can see from John Punch's results on Gamepad Law, the Apex 5 performs exceptionally well with ultra lowwired and wireless latency, fantastic linearity, and a high 847 point stick resolution.Watch X
one simple reason cuz this is kind of not a very great controller at least for as far as battery life is concerned.Watch T
They also retain the same tension adjustment mechanism as the originals, which is pretty disappointing, I think, considering that their lower-end models, the Vader 4 Pro, the new Direwolf 4, and the upcoming Vader 5 Pro and Vader 5S, all using much better tension adjustment mechanism in my opinion. Moving on to their second main selling point, their force adapt triggers.Watch O
So, I do sort of wish we had other options, such as a standard black, something other than the collaborations, which are more expensive. Though, I will say I really like the looks of the Wu Chang collab, and it's the cheapest of the non-standard color options. As far as features, we have mechanical face buttons, and these fill and sound great to me.Watch K
One of the major problems which I've seen with the Apex 5 is that when you play like for too long, this is not exactly good though because your skin, what do you say, cells You can say this will become more black as longer you play, and it will become hard to to clean out as well. So, just be aware of that before you buy the Apex 5. That's a big problem with this controller.Watch

Since I started using this controller, I've been pushing myself to use it more, but I always end up going back to the Apex 4 because something was changed on the Apex 5, which made it less comfortable. And during long gameplay sessions, I found myself doing this motion.Watch V

Which one of these limited edition controllers will help you destroy every boss in Wu Chang Fallen Feathers? Neither. You need to get good. But that doesn't mean we can't compare them. Quick disclaimer, I bought both of these controllers with my own money, and I am not sponsored or affiliated with 8bit DU or Fly Digi yet.Watch E
Yeah, very poor quality control from Fly DG on this Apex 5.Watch

The Fly Digi Apex 5 and the Games G7 Pro. Two pads, two weeks, countless firefights across Battlefield 6, Destiny 2, and Fortnite. Sniper steady long shots, frantic panic brawls, moments where milliseconds decide everything. On paper, the Apex 5 should steamroll this fight. Hallsticks, charging dock, OLED screen, premium, everything. But here's the weird part.Watch
